Pyrex

A household name in my opinon! As they have been making all kinds of measuring jugs and casserole dishes etc. etc. since around the 1940s, just about everyone has heard of Pyrex! All my things I have ever had from Pyrex have lasted me years and years and rarely do they break and give up on me. I find the quality of their products to be frankly amazing and though they aren't the cheapest ... they are definetly the best! No doubt about it!
Pyrex Glass Jug

You can get the jug itself in two different sizes, a 500ml version and the other being a 1 litre jug. I spotted the jug on offer in Marks & Spencers for just £1.50, but they are normally both around the £3 mark. Though if you do some searching around you can usaully find it for a better price. The jug itself has pretty thick glass and it pretty heavy. The measurements are on both sides and are pretty easy to read. Even my Nan can read them and she is 91! The handle on the side is also chunky and easy to hold with oven gloves on, as well as bare hands. Some handles like that can slip from your grip, but I have never found this with the Pyrex version. On the opposite side of the handle is a little spout which makes pouring things out easy and mess free.
My Experiences with the Pyrex Glass Jug

I brought both of them around 5 years ago for half price and they are still going strong. I don't use them all the time, but still quite regullary. They are perfect for when I am making cakes with my daughter (though she does struggle to lift it up sometimes so be careful if your kid tries to pick it up!) or just measuring out milk for a quick packet of pasta. The jugs have both got clear lines that show you the different measurements.
Although we use mill litres (ml) and litres (l) they also have measurements for other amounts as well. They measure from 200ml to 1L (in 100ml gaps or divisions) and 8fl oz to 1.5 pints (in 2fl oz gaps or divisions). That is of course the 1L one I have just described. The only problem with the Pyrex Glass Jug in a lot of ways is that fact that the minimum amount of liquid have to be at least 200ml or 8fl oz to be able to be measured. This could be a problem for some people.

Also, they are dishwasher friendly. Not that I would know as I am still back in the 20th centuary and still have to hand wash them :'( . They are also fine for the fridge and freezer. I do know this one as I have done this numerous times and they are stil fine. They are ok in the microwave as well, though they can get a bit hot, so be careful.
Although we have never dropped ours, I am pretty sure they wouldn't be too bad if they did have a fall. Like I have said, the glass is really thick and I don't think it will chip very easily.
Overall

I would definetly recommend either of these jugs. They are sturdy and excellent quality. They will last you for years to come!
