It has holes which are small enough to ensure lots of bits of food aren't lost down the sink but are large enough to get food drained quickly and so that I don't have to keep re draining. The colander has a depth of 11cm and a diameter of 23cm, so it's a decent size and plenty big enough for a family's vegetables never mind someone cooking for one. Sainsburys teal colander With second son off to university, we had to invest in lots of kitchen equipment. For me this was a strange undertaking since most of my stuff I have gathered over the years and buy only when I need something specific.
