      Colander

      Sainsburys teal colander

With second son off to university, we had to invest in lots of kitchen equipment. For me this was a strange undertaking since most of my stuff I have gathered over the years and buy only when I need something specific.
I decided to just bulk buy online at www.sainsburys.co.uk, and having put in my order with free delivery over £50, the stuff was delivered within a couple of days.

The colander is also available in red but I rather liked the teal which is a bright but not vibrant shade and true to the colour teal- some things are either more blue or green.
It has holes which are small enough to ensure lots of bits of food aren't lost down the sink but are large enough to get food drained quickly and so that I don't have to keep re draining. The colander has a depth of 11cm and a diameter of 23cm, so it's a decent size and plenty big enough for a family's vegetables never mind someone cooking for one.

Nice and strong, it is made from 100% melamine and is dishwasher safe.
Available instore at Sainsburys and online, the RRP is £7 but with the half price offer, I bought it for a very reasonable £3.50.

      SO, WAS IT WORTH IT?...

It is certainly a good looking reasonably priced well made and effective colander. I have "met" up with it again when visiting the halls after a few months, and it still looked as good as new. Maybe it was still brand new, but I do know it works because I used it a couple of times myself. I can also imagine it hasn't been especially well treated and as yet it hasn't sustained any chips and still remains a perfect teal colour.

Well worth the money! Matching chopping boards and tea towels are also available.
      Thanks for reading

      Daniela xx
