      Cheese grater

      Go cook Parmesan grater

On one of my moving in my new house trips to tesco I realised yet another thing I didn't own was a cheese grater. We don't grate cheese very often but we do use Parmesan on pasta so I needed something small light and effective which would also be safe for Little Miss to use, as I didn't want any grated fingertips.

This one is part of the Go Cook range and there are plenty of other everyday products at good value prices. This grater cost me £3.25, so it wasn't going to break the bank if it turned out to be less effective than more expensive products. It's available to buy online at www.tesco.com and also in Tesco stores.

The main body of the grater is made of stainless steel whilst the inner part of the handle is rubber and slightly curved which makes it comfortable to hold and because the handle is a decent length it means we can keep our fingers off the actual grating part.

Its very effective at grating hard cheese and grates then into small pieces, smaller than shavings which is the size preferred in our household. For larger shavings another grater would be needed because this gives no option of size or style other than the one.

As with all graters it's not pleasant to clean given that I find bits of cheese stay stuck to the sharp bits, but it is dishwasher safe so this does make the cleaning job easier. It is also apparently microwave safe but I haven't tried this as I can't think of any occasions when I would want the grater in the microwave.

This is a good value and effective grater. In my opinion it is suitable only for grating cheese over pasta dishes and other dishes when very small pieces of cheese are needed. It's not really something I would use to grate cheese for a sandwich and actually whilst it is very good at grating hard cheese, it seems to have a bit of a struggle with softer cheese probably because its not meant for the likes of cheddar.

It's comfortable to hold, easy to use and very sturdy, still now not showing any signs of wear and tear.

A recommended grater; I will certainly be buying more kitchen goods from this range

      Thanks for reading

      Daniela xx
