      Pizza cutter

      Let's go cook pizza!!

We eat quite a bit of pizza in our house, we either get the shop bought variety or we also like to make our own too but they need to be big because there are four of us eating them now!

This pizza cutter is a handy little tool from the Tesco Go cook range. This Go Cook range is brilliant because it does a number of kitchen utensils that you need everyday at really low prices but still keep the good quality that tools like this need.

If you've ever tried to cut a pizza with a regular knife you will know that it doesn't work very well. If you have the crusty crust variety of pizza a regular knife doesn't cut through the crust very well and then when you get to the soft pizza dough a knife ends up ripping it and pulling the cheese off rather than cutting it in nice proper slices.

This cutter is brilliant because you get a perfect pizza slice every time. The pizza cutter is made from stainless steel and is very strong. It is a very simple but very effective tool. There is basically a straight handle and then a round wheel that rotates and this wheel is actually the blade so as you roll it over your pizza it cuts. Now sometimes, especially if you are cutting through some pepperoni I find you need to roll the cutter over it a couple of times but it is quite a sharp blade so you get a nice, straight edge and a nice slice of pizza. The tool is really easy to roll and you just go back and forth and its cut.

When it comes to washing it its very simple too. I put mine in the dishwasher but if you do it by hand you just need to make sure you spin the blade all the way around because sometimes a bit of pizza can get stuck by the part that attaches to the handle but it soon comes nice and clean.

I think I paid less than a fiver for this tool and if you enjoy pizza its an essential bit of kitchen kit that you need!

A nice reasonably priced pizza wheel.

Both Mark and myself love pizza and I usually make one for us most weeks, but there's nothing worse than getting your tasty creation to the table to serve and then ruin how it looks by cutting it with a knife. It may just be my knives but I was finding when I cut the pizza all the topping, particularly the cheese, would drag and by the time the slice of pizza got to the plate it was looking a bit messy. I knew it was time to buy a pizza wheel and picked one up from Tesco the next time I was shopping. I bought one from Tescos Go Cook range of cooking utensils, it cost just £3.27.

The pizza wheel comes attached to a piece of card which is mainly red in colour and informs the customer that this is the Go Cook Pizza Cutter, apart from a small symbol indicating its suitable for dishwashers, that's it for the packaging. The pizza wheel is attached to the card with 2 plastic ties that need cutting to remove them. The actual wheel has a protective plastic cover over it which is easy to remove.

The pizza wheel is made from stainless steel and measures approximately 20cm's long and the wheel is approximately 7.5cm's in diameter. The handle is what Tesco describe as "easy grip" and has a soft black non slip coating over it. There is a hole in the end of the handle presumably so you can hang it up should you wish to.
Personally I like to keep all my utensils nicely tucked away in a drawer so no flies or wasps that might get in can get on them and spread their nasty germs. At the bottom of the handle just above the wheel is a small guard to protect your fingers from the sharp blade which runs around the edge of it.

I have been really pleased with my Go Cook Pizza Wheel, the sharp edge on the wheel simply rolls through the pizza leaving a nice clean sharp cut meaning I can serve a nice slice of pizza without all the cheese and topping being dragged off. It goes through thick or thin crust easily.
I have had the wheel for a couple for months now and it had been used every week at some point. I personally don't have a dishwasher but a good dunk in soapy water will clean the cutter just as well.

If you are looking for a good pizza wheel that doesn't cost the earth then I would recommend taking a look at Tesco Go Cook range.
