“ Brand: Tesco / Product Type: Tea Jar „
In order to complete the Tesco Heritage set we also bought the Tea jar to accompany the Coffee and Sugar jars. Unlike the previous two jars the quality of the seal on the Tea jar was nowhere near as important as both my wife and I only drink tea and as a result the tea bag jar in our house doesn't tend to hold the same tea bags for any great length of time. We wanted to make sure all three Jars were from the same range and as a result also picked up the Tea Jar as it too was only £2.50 and with a total price of £7.50 for three ceramic jars it was a nice way to decorate our Kitchen with something practical.
Not Quite As Important For Tea
Whilst it was important that the seal on the Coffee and Sugar Jars was robust and kept the contents fresh, this requirement is exceedingly less important on the Tea Jar. We do use the Tea Jar considerably more, so even though the seal for preserving the goods inside perhaps didn't need to be quite as good as on the other two jars, it did have to be able to withstand a lot of opening and closing, which given the months of use we've already put it through, it has stood up to this test incredibly well.
Holding The Bags
Just like the Coffee and Sugar Jars, the Ceramic Heritage Tea Jar has a capacity of 850ml which makes it a decent size for any family and means that we do not have to fill it too often, despite the amount of tea bags we seem to go through. Between the two of us we do drink a lot of Tea, at least one cup each a day and as a result we need something with decent storage capacity that fits in with the look we are trying to achieve in our Kitchen and this ticks both boxes. The air tight seal on the container keeps the tea bags inside nice and fresh.
Once the Tea bags were inside we had plenty of bags held within the jar and with the sealed lid in place it looks a very decent product. Since we bought the jars in April we have refilled the Jar only a couple of times, which given its capacity shows that it has held at least 100 tea bags.
Like the Sugar and Coffee Jars, the Heritage Tea Jar is dishwasher safe, which would make washing it out nice and easy if we had a dishwasher, however it cleans up perfectly with old fashioned soap and water as well. The beige colouring of the product makes it blend in easily to our Kitchen, especially alongside the Coffee and Sugar jars and despite having an 850ml capacity it, just like the other Jars and it is only 10cm wide, meaning they all take up minimal worktop space.
As I've already mentioned that for me was the key feature we were looking for and the Tesco Heritage storage collection and as a set they all delivered exactly what we had hoped. As we had hoped the lid has stood up well to the constant use and still remains in its original position with no real signs of wear and tear making this seem like even more of a bargain for the price.
For the price and the style of the Heritage jars you really can't go wrong. They are a solid product that has been made with quality in mind and really serves there purpose well. As part of a set it looks good in our Kitchen and really is inkeeping with the overall aesthetics of the room, which for £2.50 is a steal. As a range I can honestly say that the Heritage collection is a winner and one we would be glad to recommend to anyone, especially at only £2.50 per jar.
