Advantages: Price. It works. Sturdy.
Disadvantages: None.
The Tesco Value Slotted Spoon is something I've used for about the previous 12 months - and I've been using it on near enough a daily basis. It cost me just 37p from Tesco which really is an amazing price and I don't think that product like this could be bought for any cheaper really. I have to admit that at 37p I wasn't convinced that the spoon would last very long, but a year later I'm still using it and it's still as good as new.
The spoon is made of black plastic and looks pretty much as you would expect a slotted spoon to cost. There is nothing innovative about the design and it's pretty basic and there's not a whole lot exciting I can say about the spoon. It's a large spoon with 8 draining holes cut out of the spoon so that liquid can drain through while keeping the large solid bits on the spoon. But while there is nothing innovative about the product, it does do what it's supposed to do and does it well. There is a hole at the top of the handle so that the spoon can be hung up in the kitchen.
The spoon is plastic all over - but the plastic is not flimsy and its more than capable of holding a spoonful of vegetables. After a year's use, the spoon has maintained its shape and there are no cracks in the plastic - despite a years' use.
Overall, what really makes this spoon stand out is the fact that it is such a cheap price - and yet it still works.
Summary: Recommended.
