Cool little coasters that will probably have another life as Prince Harry Club membership badges!

In my defence, I've been actively looking for coasters for a while now. I never spend much on coasters as they either get a) lost or b) wrecked on a very regular basis. So, when I spied these Royal Wedding tie-in coasters promoted right here on Dooyoo I decided to buy a set.

Well, actually they're sold singly but I bought six so that's as good as a set to me. They're a very straightforward coaster; cork backed with a shiny regal purple front and the words (in white) 'CALM DOWN YOU CAN STILL MARRY HARRY'. In capitals, and irritatingly without a comma after the words 'CALM DOWN'. Very annoying, and now I've noticed...

The coasters measure 10cm x 10cm, which is average size for this type of thing, and has a thickness of just under half a centimetre. The cork backing is attached securely to the face of the coaster, and they look to be reasonably water-resistant as one took a soaking the other night but dried out surprisingly well. There are no cup rings on the coasters, you could say it's early days yet but I know from experience that if a coaster is going to suffer from cup rings it will be in the first few days - not six months down the line.

I think I'll be bored of these coasters before they die, the caption is already grating on Mark and we generally prefer coasters with pictures - and the small crown motif doesn't count!

They protect the table from cup marks, this is their one and only job and it does this admirably. It was topical for, oh, four days but as each day goes on it's losing its wittiness. Which isn't the coasters fault, you need Bin Laden ones to be really bang on trend in the tableware stakes.

These were £1.99 each from a private seller on Amazon, he was selling six and when I bought them all he posted for free. So at nearly twelve quid they're dearer than most coasters sets I buy, but it doesn't matter as they're just a bit of fun. Anyway, when I'm tired of them and get a replacement set Alice has claimed these to give out to her Prince Harry-mad little pals.
