Wilko Clear Measuring Jug
Disadvantages: Can't read the information on it properly, cheap feel
Living near a Wilkinson's store I pop in there quite regularly for bits and pieces and one of the things I bought recently was this 1L plastic measuring jug for 35p. I had just the one Pyrex jug that I used for everything but recently have found the need for more than one jug when making some meals up and so thought I'd try something cheaper.
This is a very basic and as I have said 1L plastic, white frosted jug with integrated handle. The whole thing is made of quite cheap and thin plastic however the integrated handle is supportive enough for the amount of liquid it can hold. The spout is wide and shallow and this measures in ounces, pints and millilitres by the way of raised lines and numbers to both sides of the jug.
However I find this a bit of a pointless jug to be honest. I'm fine mixing up in it, theres plenty of room inside of it for a fork or spoon or whatever my problem is being able to read the measurements as they are simply raised small numbers and lines and I find myself holding the jug to the light with liquid in it trying to make out what I have! Also steam and heat make this feel more flimsy and its even harder to read the information on the jug as steam gets completely in the way.
All in all for me I blend things up in this by hand says a scrambled egg mixture but as for measuring in it.......not anymore and I've jut treated myself to yet another Pyrex measuring jug so I can relegate this one to the back of a cupboard for emergencies but in my opinion this is bit of a waste of money and your better putting your 35p to something better but if you have great eyeslight, patience and little cash this could see you by for a while. It is dishwasher safe though I haven't used it in a dishwasher though as I don't own one and hand wash mine but I have found it to go a little stained over time making it not look very nice!
Cheap and not great!
Only available in Wilkinson's stores.
Summary: Ok for 35p but not for me and my kitchen!
