When we recently decorated the lounge in red and grey so I wanted some matching coasters and found these funky spotty grey coasters from Wilko. They came in a pack of four and cost just £1.99 so work out at just 50p each. They have a coated finish on the top so you can put your drinks on them and if anything spills you can just wipe over it with a tissue or a cloth.
They are 10cm (or four inches) square and feel quite thick and padded as there are several layers of the compressed cork stuck together which are secured very well so you wouldn't expect them to come apart or to bend.
Wilso also do matching place mats at £5 if you like to have everything matching which I think is also a good price however I have a different set for my tableware. I use these coasters for the little tables at the side of the sofa and chairs as they are oak and can mark quite easily. They are very easy to clean even if they have coffee stains on and I will just wipe them over with a damp cloth or a kitchen wipe. I have never fully submerged them into water but there is nothing to say that you can't do this.
I think these are a great set of coasters and are far cheaper than a lot of similar ones. They really do protect your furniture and even if it isn't made of wood it does save a lot of cleaning as these are small to wipe over quickly. They do look smart and stylish and they have a variety of uses such as using underneath a plant pot or vase to catch any drips. I do highly recommend these coasters as they are well made and funky looking and I would buy them again.
My partner has recently moved house. He used to live in a small room in a shared house and now has a cottage of his own so you can imagine its taken a while to get together the money to buy everything he needs.
We finally got round to getting a coffee table last week and then he decided he wanted some coasters so hot drinks wouldnt ruin it. I agreed this was probably a good idea and said I would look for some when I next went shopping.
First stop was Asda, but there wasnt really any I took a shine to in here so I decided to look elsewhere, I tried Poundland but there was nothing so I was just about giving up hope when I decided to have a very quick look in Wilkinsons.
Wilkinsons had a great variety of coasters and they varied in price from just 50p to £2 for packs of 4. I had a quick look and then spotted these. I liked these immediately because the design was quite funky and also because it would also match the grey rug we had bought the day before.
They were a bargain at just 97p so I decided to snap them up immediately and I was very pleased with my bargain purchase that went perfectly with my colour scheme!
The picture shown above is exactly the same as the coasters, they have a white background and then different shades of grey make up the spots. Each coaster is about 4 inches square and they house a large mug or a pint glass quite comfortably. They have a cork backing which means the surface of the table has not been scratched at all and it also acts as a great heat insulator meaning that the table does not get warm when we place hot drinks on the coasters.
On a couple of occasions we have spilt a drink and it has gone on the coaster rather than the table. The coasters are easy to clean, I just wipe them over with a damp cloth and leave them to dry. This has not ruined the coasters at all but I would imagine if you put them in water then they might start to come apart.
I think that these coasters do exactly what they are meant to do! They protect our table really well both from heat and spillages. They look nice and do a brilliant job and for 97p you really cant complain!
