Advantages: exceptional moisturising properties

Disadvantages: cost

I cant actually remember how & why I ended up using this product, however it is now my staple moisturiser.

Ive been using creme de lar mer now for a good few years and until last December there were occasions when it ran out & I had to resort to a fill in moisturiser. During this period i always noticed my skin becoming much dryer and sadly I think i look older!

Creme de la mer is a very thick cream which reminds me a bit of cold cream that was used many years ago, it kind of smells a bit like that as well! From the minute you use it (& you really only need a tiny amount ie finger nail size) you can feel it pumping up your skin with moisture & your skin looks like it has a really healthy glow to it.

This is an expensive product so if you are serious about spending this kind of cash visit House of Frazers and speak to one of the consultants, they will know if you are serious so are more likely to give you some samples to try at home

I will now always buy this product over in the states as the combination of the favourable $ exchange rate and better prices over there means on a product of this cost there are considerable savings to be made. 30ml jar you can save over £20 by buying in America.

My last visit to the states was last December to New York and as closing time approached as Saks 5th Avenue i asked the sales assistant what "incentives" there were to purchase the large 500ml tub (which costs £1250 in the UK!). Aside from the conversion price being around £750 (which is still a flippen scary price!) she offered me 3 gift bags which each contained a months supply of the cream, serum, toner & hand cream. She also gave a bag to my friend who was buying nothing! A visit to the cocktail bar to contemplate my spending actions was the next step! Needless to say everything was thrown out of the hotel safe & this big pot was thrown in!

Anyway the point to the garble above is that if you can afford to buy the big pot then even in the UK big savings over the long term can be made. You should also be able to negotiate some great freebies that in themselves are worth a fair bit.

So how long does this large pot last: with normal twice a day use it can last for 5 years, longer with once a day use.

Storage: I thought you would store this in the fridge but no, it is to be stored away from heat at cool room temperatures.

You should be given a 30 ml empty tub so you can decant from the big tub what you need to get you by for the next few months. Always use the spactula provided not your fingers!

Summary: great moisturiser that i think is well worht the money, go get a sample!
