Advantages: None for me
Disadvantages: Can cause dryness, redness and spots, TOOO expensive
After reading everything in magazines about creme de la mer I was dying to try it, but put it at the back of my mind as I could not afford £75 for a 30ml jar. Then suddenly I stumbled accross Ebay and guess what! I manafed to buy it from America for £50. I was like a child waiting for christmas, for the whole week before my cream arrived I was dreaming, imagining how it would transform my life, give me the flawless skin I always dreamt of, I would look like one of those women in magazines who advertise makeup (they always have great skin although I think it is a result of airbrushing and clever lighting). All of the sudden my cream is here, I am soooo excited, I cant wait to try it. Mmm this feels good, I thought, as I sparingly applied the cream to my face and continued to think so for about a week. Then disaster struck. I woke up one morning and as I touched my forhead and jawline i felt them. Little tiny spots, you couldnt see them yet put they were there. They were tiny, kind of like pimples, and quite red, and my skin felt so dry almost like the first bouts of eczema. Oh my god !!! my skin is disintergrating, it was awful, quite traumatic. I knew it was the "wonder" cream that was doing this to my skin as I had not used anything else on my face, I was almost in tears, all this hype about this cream and I have just spent £50 on a pot of eczema. I stopped using it there and then and went back to my old and trusty Clarins Energising morning cream. Within three days my skin was back to its normal old self. I ended up selling my cream on ebay for £55 (Made a profit there) and I certainly got it out of my system. My experience also taught me not to take things that I read in magazines too seriously. Just because Posh, or any Posh for that matter, uses the cream It doesnt mean that I have to, and I am not going to end up with her money or lifestyle just because I use the same cream as her. The information given about this cream
is as follows: <p> It is currently developed by the Lauder group but was conceived by NASA physicist Max Huber 30 years ago. It is so expensive, allegedly because of the "secret ingredient" - a special seaweed picked off the north coast of California only two times a year. It also contains Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Iron, Lecithin, Vitamins C , D , E and B12 as well as extracts of citrus, eucalyptus wheatgerm, alfalfa and sunflower. Then there is a four month long biofermentation process that suposedly transforms the ingredients into a nutrient- rich broth of creme de la mer.

- 22/08/02 didn't know you could sell stuff on ebay that you had already used. Cosmetics do go off, especially if they're 2nd or 3rd hand. |

I had considered saving up to try some of this "miraculous" cream, but I'm not nearly so keen now, having read the reviews. Yikes! |
