I bought this La Mer The SPF 18 Fluid already back in 2010. The price tag was £65 (it seems to me like most La Mer products) and I ordered it from their official website. The delivery was pretty quick - I recommend to order La Mer products only from their website since the customer service is really excellent.
Little bit about La Mer brand:
Crème de la Mer is Estée Lauder's signature product. It is a moisturizing cream containing fermented kelp. The product was originally developed by Max Huber who was a physicist for NASA to treat his severe chemical burns which he sustained in an accidental explosion during an experiment.
My experience with La Mer The SPF 18 Fluid:
I like it! It makes my skin look smooth and hydrates as well and is providing UV protection. It is great especially for spring and summer months. It is necessary to apply only small amount of the fluid on the face since the fluid spreads very easily. The bottle lasted me for nearly two years because I was't using it so often. I personally prefer similar La Mer fluid which offers higher UV protection for my sensitive skin. However this product is not bad at all. If La Mer wouldn't have similar product on the market I would continue using this one since the quality is great and is very sensitive to my skin.
Overall this is a great product! I would highly recommend a purchase even I am not using it anymore.
The 'La Mer The SPF 18 Fluid' is basically a tinted moisturiser with added SPF to protect against harmful rays of the sun, and I think personally it's an excellent all in one product ideal for both the spring and summer months - one I will definitely continue using during the upcoming spring season! It is available in a couple of different shades however you do have to be very specific as they are true to colour.
It is around £65-£70 to buy now as I believe it is discontinued by La Mer, which is a shame but it has been around for a good 6 years now. For a 50ml bottle this is quite pricey but it's an excellent product I will continue to buy so long as it is available.
I find this product very good in terms of moisture, it keeps my skin hydrated all day long but doesn't leave greasy marks or irritate my pores either. It spreads evenly and has quite a light, smooth texture. It doesn't really have a smell but definitely feels fresh on your skin. It is tinted and this is visible lightly on the skin but provides only light coverage, more of a colouring than a cover. It's very important to get the shade right even still though, as they are quite dark if not selected correctly.
I only have to use a little dab on my finger, it spreads a long way and doesn't take a lot of the bottle. It doesn't need removed at night in the way foundation would either, and gives a lovely healthy glow to the skin. I love using it with my everyday makeup and would always choose it over foundation! It's really good with all types of skin - I have sensitive skin with tendencies to be dry but also greasy at times, so for it to work is really an admirable thing.
It's produced with very naturally based ingredients which draws me a lot to it - I believe seaweed is a large part of it's ingredient list. It definitely holds the same freshness!
The bottle is simple but easy to squeeze out the texture, and the hole is small enough that it doesn't pour out but does come out when squeezed. It is high quality and durable, with a simple yet distinctive design.
I'm really loving my cosmetics this spring, and this is definitely one I will use in between other products. It's a shame it's becoming harder to get but I definitely recommend everyone to try it!
