Abru 3 Tread Stepladder
Advantages: Practical around the home, safe to use, good price
Disadvantages: None that I have found
When it comes to jobs around the house I do not mind trying my hand at anything, I used to shy away but sometimes when you need a job doing just need and want to get on with it yourself. I am not short but not overly tall weather so certain jobs around the home require me to need a little bit of assistance and so a handy step ladder is vital to certain jobs. Before we purchased a step ladder it was either try using the dining room chair as a make shift method or go and borrow my mum and dads but when a simple light bulb needs changing this is not always the best solution so when we went down to our local Homebase store I picked one up with the help of my nectar points. I was really pleased with the purchase and here are my thoughts.
The actual ladder that we got was the Abru 3 Tread Domestic stepladder. I went down to Homebase as I mentioned above as I had Nectar points to help with the purchase, it cost us £21.49 and having looked around this is the price that the ladder tends to retail at, B and Q have it priced at £21.98 and I am sure this is the same price in other DIY stores, I guess I did not want to pay much more than this and so was pleased with the purchase.
The ladder came packed with some cellophane on it and I was eager to get this off and have a look, the ladder flat is not that tall and bulky and to extend it so that the top of the ladder is set up and ready to use, it is still not that bulky which is great. I store the ladder under my stairs and it sits in there really well and not really in the way. To lift the ladder is not that uncomfortable and it is quite a lightweight product.
The ladder is made from an aluminium metal and when it is set up the ladder is 0.58m so the two steps on this product do give it that extra height to allow you to carry out those little jobs around the house, anything more than this then you would need something bigger or more substantial in my opinion. The steps on the ladder have a good grip on them, this is the same as the feet of the ladder, they have a good grip on the ground and I have even took the ladder outside and pit it on my decking to allow me to clean the taller windows in my conservatory and it is so great as opposed to asking for help or waiting so I can go and borrow a ladder.
This for me is a time saver as the ladder is always on hand and helps me with those small jobs that prior to having this ladder were always a bit of a pain. As I mentioned, it is easy to store and I guess the main thing is that I feel really safe on it, even when on the second step of the ladder it is not a problem with the grip on the steps, there is a hand rail that runs either side of the steps so if you do need to grip it to steady yourself it is good to know that it is there, when the ladder is down it is also used to help carry the ladder around the house.
In summary, I have been really pleased with this ladder and I am more than happy to recommended it.
5 out of 5 from me
