Advantages: Feels safer and more secure than some of the others on the market!
Disadvantages: None, I really have no excuse now for DIY!
Wth a week off this past week, I decided to do some decorating and complete some of those DIY jobs that I had been postponing and putting off for some time now. One of the excuses that I had been using to avoid these jobs was that I didn't have a suitable ladder. Well, three guesses what my Fathers Day present was this year.....
Transporting this from our local B&Q store was a doddle because although a fair size, provided you have a fairly large car such as a hatchback then this should fit comfortably in back. Once home and out of the box, this combinaton ladder stands at a height of a little under 3M as a nine tread ladder at its maximum extended length and at a height of just over 1.5M as a closed 6 tread step-ladder. As a multi-functional and versatile combination ladder, this product feels both safe and sturdy during use and is made from hardy aluminium meaning that it can take a few knocks along the way with the only danger of damage being to your walls! But be warned ~ if you are slightly on the rotund side at all, then this ladder probably isn't for you! It has a maximum weight level of 15 stone so if you do like your pies or other heavily baked pastry-laden products , you might need to shop around a bit for a more heavy duty ladder!
This ladder is fairly light and easy to carry around. Under the tuteledge of Mrs.Sparky I have used this to paint on the stairs, to get further into and out of our loft so that I can store some of our junk out of sight (and out of mind presumably too) and to sort out our blocked guttering around the porch. And at no time did I feel unsafe as, once secured properly, this isn't going anywhere!
Getting this into any of its three possible positions does take a bit of practice at first but, once you get the hang of it, is fairly quick and easy. It is certainly one of the better combination ladders I have used and a lot better and secure than the model I used to borrow off my Dad! In fact, now the tables have turned and HE wants to borrow MINE for some jobs!!
This is a great multi-purpose ladder that is ideal for all of those "tricky" bits and one thing is for certain, as much as I hate doing DIY this has made doing it a little bit easier! Bt next year I might just have to be a bit cleverer about what I talk about just before Fathers Day!!
Summary: A great little combination ladder that currently costs just over £50 from B&Q!
