I used to be very much of the opinion that a ladder is just a ladder. How wrong i was when my old rickety ladder gave way beneath me and i suffered a mighty whack to the side of my body. This led me to venture into the ladder market with one key question, "how safe is this ladder".
The Z600 Anodised Double sided Step provides me with all the support that i need to be comfortable and confident when doing work at height. My biggest fear is for the ladder to splay and me to topple, the high-strength perlon belts prevent this and was the unique selling point to make this purchase.
At the rear of the ladder there are slip resistant plastic ends. I have used this on my slippery garage floor and the caps provide complete stability.
The comfort of using the ladder comes from the 80 mm treads. They are large enough to distribute the strain on the legs providing tireless free standing.
Each of the five steps has triple indentations / ridges to ensure you step is safe and there is no risk of your foot slipping from the ladder.
I have owned the ladder for around 14 months and the wear is not noticeable. There is no sign of rust and the metal frame has withstood scratching throughout use. The plastic ends still provide complete stability and the ladder itself sets up and stands as good as new.
I paid £120 for the ladder which is the only reason it loses a mark. It is pricey but am i being harsh by only giving 4 out of 5? It work and its safe, what else can i ask for from a ladder? I have no excuses not to continue the DIY round the house!
