Lancome Colour Fever Gloss
by rosaliecullen
==Overview==
I received this item free as part of a bonus time deal from Lancome when I bought some other items. I received the full item for free which is worth £18 so well worth the bonus times at Lancome in Debenhams.
==Description==
Lancome Color Fever Lipgloss is a lipgloss from Lancome which is 6ml ... in volume. I would say that the packaging is very modern, the colour of the gloss can be seen through a plastic (looks like glass) base and the lid of the lipgloss is a lovely silver colour. The colour I have is number 321 which is a sparkly pink colour (like in the DooYoo picture). All of the glosses have numbers rather than names.
==The gloss==
The lipgloss has a strange sort of bent back applicator which looks a bit odd when you get it out of the barrel of the gloss. The applicator is sponge rather than a brush, so no danger of bristles falling off and going onto your lips. I think the sponge gives a good and even application and as the sponge has a pointed end, it is really easy to keep the gloss inside your lip line. As far as lipglosses go, this gloss isn't too sticky (not like Juicy Tubes) and gives a really nice colour and nice shine. It isn't like a bright pink gloss, it is more like a clear gloss with a hint of pink in it. The only downside to this particular colour is that it has glitter bits in it for more shine. I personally don't like glitter bits, they aren't huge so you can't feel them on your lips but the glitter stays on your lips long after the lipgloss has gone. The gloss stays on your lips for quite a while, but all lip glosses do come off in the end, particularly when eating or drinking. I wouldn't say this stayed on longer or shorter than any others I have tried.
==Would I buy this again?==
I like that the colours are subtle, I have tried another browny colour which gives a hint of colour and lovely gloss look to your lips and much preferred it to this pink glitter that I have reviewed here. I would buy the item again if it was on offer, although I am sure the gloss would last a long time, £18 is still quite expensive so it would have to be on a good deal or with some good freebies for me to buy it again. I would buy a different colour, one without glitter and I definitely wouldn't buy the pink glitter again. Read the complete review |

Lancôme Tonique Douceur
by rosaliecullen
==Overview==
As part of a Lancome gift set, I received a trial version of the Tonique Douceur, as it was 50ml it was quite a generous trial size and I've been able to use it many times to see if I like it enough to buy the full version (which retails around £20). The Tonique Douceur is one of the skin toners in the Lancome ... range; I have previously reviewed Tonique Confort (for dry skin) and really love that so this had a lot to live up to. .
==The Toner==
This toner comes in a clear blue bottle and has a lid on the top whereby you can shake the toner out onto cotton wool. There is also another Lancome toner which is blue and also a makeup remover (Bi-Facial) which is blue. This has led to some confusion amongst the easily confused and I have found myself trying to take off my eyemakeup with my toner by accident (can confirm it doesn't work and stings a bit!). The toner is less creamy than the Tonique Confort that I previously reviewed, in fact one could argue it looks like expensive blueish water. My face feels clean when I use the toner but I do feel that my cheeks in particular feel a bit tight after using it (minus one star from the rating(. The toner is suitable for all skin types, but for someone with dry skin I'd say the Tonique Confort was better. This toner doesn't sting my skin or make it seriously dry out like other toners in other ranges have done and my skin feels nice and soft and smooth after using the toner. Overall though, for me and my skin type, I'd have to go back to Tonique Confort.
==Value for money==
If you can get a trial size (50ml) as part of a free gift set (which Lancome do regularly), I happen to think you get a pretty good deal, that is worth around £5. In terms of buying the full item at £20, it would last a long time (although I don't use it every day) but for the price I think you could find something cheaper which was just as good (yet to find it though!). As stated in my last review "Debenhams have offers on Lancome stuff sometimes so I try would try to pick it up during these or 'bonus' times" (when you get free gifts too). Due to the price, I'd have to drop another star from the rating. I don't think I would buy this for myself as it doesn't suit my skin type as well as the Tonique Confort but in terms of being gentle and a good quality product, I would recommend it. Lancôme Bi Facil
by rosaliecullen
==Overview==
I purchased the large version of this item having tried a trial version as part of a free gift I got from Lancome when purchasing some other makeup. Bi-Facial is essentially a makeup remover from the Lancome range. It comes in a clear bottle with a silver top and the liquid is like water in consistency and is a ... two-tone blue colour.
==Does it work?==
As far as makeup removers go, I would say that this is pretty useful and pretty good. As the consistency is like a "dry-oil", I tend not to use it all over my face and only use it for removing eye makeup which tends to be the most difficult to get off. I use other cleansers and toners to get my face makeup off. You shake this out of the bottle like a vinegar bottle onto some cotton wool. You don't need much at all just a few drops per eye.
I personally have found this very effective at taking eye makeup off - I am quite vigorous with taking eye makeup off (even though you are supposed to be gentle around your eye area) and found that around 95% of the eye makeup is removed with Bi-Facial. If I then go on to have a shower or wash my face, I find some black (panda-eyes-esque) mascara is under the eye or sometimes even makes it onto my fluffy white towels which is not the desired effect.
==Value for money==
Compared to other oil-based eye makeup removers this seems pretty similar in terms of it's 'removing power' - the other two I have used are Botanic's (£2.99 for 200ml) and Avon Perfect Wear (£5 for 50ml) - this costs around £18-£20 for 125ml. It is no more or less effective than the other two. I am not keen on the Botanics version as I'm certain it has given me milia around my eyes which has actually got quite bad. Sadly, AVON have discontinued their version which leaves me with very little options. I don't think the Bi-facial has worsened the milia but I can't say for certain.
Overall it is probably quite an expensive product and based on that I'm not sure if I would buy it again even though I think it is a good product. I have a huge stash of AVON makeup remover to get through, so if I run out of that I would consider this again but until then I probably won't invest again.
==Overall==
This is a good, if expensive product that I would buy again if I had no cheaper options. Read the complete review |
