Lancôme Hydrazen Neurocalm Soothing Anti-Stress Moisturising Cream
by asshaaa
Lancome are a brand i have the utmost respect for. They continually produce great products time after time and i think the experiances i had with their make - up removers left me really excited to try the skin care range. Let me say now however that lancome have really dissapointed me with their hydrazen neurocalm range. The creams are ... aimed to soothe and calm stressed skin, but i haven't seen this happen to mine. If anything it has gotten worse since using this product.
Before splashing my money out on a huge tub of expensive cream, i bought a sample of ebay and for £7 pound plus postage+packaging i got a small 15ml tub of the night cream and the day cream.
Both creams are thick and white, with a subtle floral scent. After cleaning my face and toning i used the day cream. The day cream spread easily and you didn't need much product. It sunk in fantastically and made my normally dry skin very soft and subtle. The night cream was exactly the same and i really liked the effect it had on my skin. I woke up and my skin felt bright and glowy.
However a week after using the product (and note this is the only skin care change i made recently) my dry skin became even dryer, to the point where it was visibily peeling along my cheek bones. I reached for my night cream to soothe my damaged skin, and i found that the product was actually stinging my skin. Thinking it was a one off, i tried to continue to use the night cream but my skin continued to sting and peel away.
I tried to do some research but lancome do not provide an ingrediants list on their website / in store to be able to find out what exactly is in it that is stinging my skin. I feel that lancome have really messed up somewhere when a product that is designed to calm skin aggrevated mine. Obviously skin care is subjective but if you have dry skin that is prone to sensitivity on occasion this is not for you.
I'm very glad it was only a sample size, and i definately will not be buying the full sized product. Read the complete review |

Lancome Colour Fever Lipstick
by kama0529
I have a multitude of lipsticks because it is the one cosmetic item that I'm never without. One of the lipsticks I own is from the Lancome Colour Fever range. This cost me just £4.45 from Amazon, which included post and packaging - which I felt was a really good price for a great quality branded lipstick. I do think that these lipsticks ... are often much more expensive, but equally it seems like there are some really good offers around at the moment. I have to admit that I don't have that much experience with Lancome and so I wasn't too sure on what the quality would be like, but I have to say that I have been pretty impressed.
There are a range of colours - and a really good range of colours with subtle shade differences. The shade I picked out was called "Boiling Point" which is a red lipstick which is just one shade off of the brightest red and it's certainly not a colour you'd wear if you want to blend into the background! There are other shades I am planning to buy in the near future because I really like this range and the options available - not to mention the price!
The lipstick comes in a traditional lipstick tube which was pretty uninspiring but also looks perfectly professional and high quality. The lipstick is twirled up and down in the traditional format and so it's easy to apply.
The colour that comes out onto my lips is very rich and creamy and just gives such a luxurious feel and look. I really love the way that the lipstick has so much depth and reflects the light but that it does this without being shiny. It doesn't bleed and the colour stays solid. The last ability is also pretty great - and it lasts for about four hours before I need to reapply it - which is pretty good going. I also love how it leaves my lips so moisturised and feeling healthy.
Overall, I really like this lipstick and can't see any reason not to recommend it. Read the complete review |

Lancome Ombre Absolue Mono Eyeshadow
by Abski2001
I treated myself to a new eyeshadow after the last pay day and decided to try a Lancome product whilst wondering around Debenhams beauty section. I have not used or owned much of their make-up on the whole though I'm not really sure why after buying this Ombre Absolue Mono eyeshadow I am really happy with it and will be purchasing more ... int he future.
Lancome Paris is actually owned by L'Oreal and makes luxury make-up, perfumes and skin care products. The brand has a very elite and classic feel to it but has become a lot more modern in both its products and recent advertising campaigns with Emma Watson and Anne Hathaway joining their branding. The Ombre Absolue Mono eyeshadow is a single coloured eyeshadow palette.
The product comes in a small, tightly packaged box. The box is plain and black with the Lancome elegant writing embossed in gold on the front. inside the box is the eyeshadow and small paper instructions and ingredients nonsense that I never really pay any attention to. The eyeshadow itself come in a shiny black compact case, the case is square shaped with slightly rounded sides with measurements of approximately 4cm x 4cm. The only writing or pattern on the box is a gold single rose, the motif for Lancome branding. The eyshadow looks elegant and expensive.
The compact opens up by pressing the small button on the front of the case. Inside is a large mirror that covers the whole of the top of the casing which is a great size for applying your eyeshadow and the other half contains the eyeshadow and small double sided sponge applicator brush, with one larger and one smaller side for different application techniques. The size of the eyeshadow is disappointingly small I think compared to the case size being approximately 2 cm x 2 cm and about 3-4 mm deep.
This Ombre Absolute Mono is available in quite a few colours, here are some lovely sparkly colour examples.
A65 Stress Amethyst
G15 Silver Shines
G40 Erika F.
G60 Strass Black
The shadow colours come embossed with the Lancome rose branding which I think is a lovely touch and oozes quality. Lancome describe this eyeshadow as "A luminous, smoothing eye-shadow which is soft and comfortable to wear". I have the Erika F colour, which looks beautiful on my eyes, it is a metallic mix of blackened green, silver and bronze shades that make an intense eye coverage for any time of day or night. It is amazingly smooth to apply and has a really intense colour without having to use half of the eyeshadow palette to achieve this look.
The eyshadow is rich and velvety and doesn't dry up or lose its intensity during wear. Lancome advertise this to have 6 hours hold and I can confirm it does indeed have this staying power. There are also very little to no creasing effects left on my eyelids during the day again likely due to the quality and pigmentation in the shadow. I do not need to reapply this shadow at any point in the day, it looks fab constantly.
I am extremely pleased with this eye shadow and am going to treat myself to another shade next pay day. These cost about £15 per eyeshadow available at Lancome counters such as in John Lewis and Debenhams, it is expensive but the quality and results are worth it. Read the complete review |
