Lancome Galatéis Douceur
by bringingsexyback
WHAT IS IT?
A cleansing fluid from Lancome that is designed to clean your skin and to remove your make up also.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You wet your face and apply the cleansing fluid using circular motions over your skin. When you have cleaned all areas you should use cotton wool to remove the fluid and ... then rinse finally with cool water, Lancome say that you do not need to rinse but I think that my skin feels a little bit sticky if I don't do this.
WHAT I THINK
I like this cleansing fluid but it is not one that I will buy again when my 125ml bottle has been used up. It has made the skin on my face a little bit dry and it does not remove heavy make up only light foundation and powdery eye make up, it will not remove all of my mascara ever even when I am not using waterproof mascara and is not very effective on pencil eyeliner.
It smells nice because even though it is a milky cleansing fluid it has got a creamy smell that has been given a flowery fragrance. It makes my eyes water a little bit when I use it on my eye make up and I do not know why because I have not got sensitive eyes. The smell and very light texture makes the cleansing fluid pleasing to use but it is so thin that it does not feel like a very expensive product even though it is.
The texture of the cleansing fluid is very light and soft, I like that it feels cool on my skin like a gel would and how easy it is to wipe off with a ball of cotton wool. I only need to rinse very quick but it is important because I do not like how my skin feels if I do not rinse, it goes tight and dry and I hate the feeling so I make sure that I do not leave any in contact with my skin by rinsing well with cool water.
I think my skin feels clean after I have used the fluid but I have to take a long time massaging it into my skin to get this amount of clean feeling. It removes my foundation as long as I am not wearing a heavy one but like I have said already it is not very good at removing other sorts of make up and is worst at eye make up.
ANYTHING ELSE
I have got the travel size 125ml bottle of Galateis Douceur cleansing fluid and the full size bottle contains 400ml and costs £35. That is not good value I do not think because it does not remove all of my make up and makes my skin feel quite dry.

Lancôme Tonique Douceur
by helenc72
I am a bit of a skincare and makeup enthusiast and I often tend to try loads of new products, however toners are usually not something I am that bothered about experimenting with as I have a firm favourite product that I usually stick with, which is Clinique clarifying lotion (strictly not exactly a toner as it is actually a liquid ... exfoliator, but it basically takes the role of a toner in my usual routine). Anyway, I ended up with a few bottles of the Lancôme tonique douceur as I bought a big Lancôme kit at Christmas time and I have also received a couple of travel sized bottles as gifts with purchase. I am a big fan of getting good gifts with purchase and its worth mentioning that Lancôme are fairly generous with this and often do have freebie deals available at their counters.
The toner comes in a clear bottle containing a blue liquid and as with many Lancôme products it has a rose design sort of etched on. It looks simple but attractive. It comes in 200 ml size which costs £22 or 400 ml size for £35 which gives you a bit of a saving per ml if you know you like it and are going to get through it, though I do consider if fairly pricey. They also have the 50 ml travel size which you can sometimes get in sets or free gifts.
This toner is applied like most toners in that you dispense a few drops out onto a cotton pad and smooth it over your face. However, I find that this one feels different to any other toner that I have ever tried! This toner is advertised as softening, hydrating and alcohol free. Most toners I have ever used have been more alcohol based, quite astringent and sometimes a bit harsh. They often leave my face with that slightly taut feel which can be nice and refreshing in a way, but this one is different. It feels much gentler, it really does feel extremely hydrating rather than making my skin feel it has been stripped it feels like it has put something in. As well as hydrating it is supposed to perform the normal toner function of refining skin and removing impurities, which I feel it does do effectively. As with a lot of Lancôme products, this tonique douceur has a light rose scent to it so that coupled with the gentle and kind sensation and moisturisation actually reminds me of just using natural rosewater on my skin. It feels lovely to use.
For me with a tendency to oily skin at times, I think this is perfect for using in the evening but I have not been using it in the mornings. In the morning I don't want to put too much moisture into my skin and would prefer something more oil balancing and mattifying to prevent any shininess on my face, especially as summer is finally arriving, so I stick to my usual Cinique in the morning. For anyone who does not need to worry about a shiny face this would probably be fine to use in the morning as well.
Over all this was a totally different toner experience for me and one which was a pleasant surprise. Read the complete review |

Lancôme Bi Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover
by MsTricia
My old assistant manager is really lovely and the other week she asked me to do her a favour and in return she took me for lunch and she gave me a small 30ml sized bottle of this Lancome eye makeup remover. I am quite fond of a little mascara, eyeliner etc so having some eye makeup remover never goes a miss!
- Packaging - ...
The bottle is a semi-opaque greenish bottle, so you are able to see through the bottle and see how much of the remover remains. Mine has a silver has a screw on blue lid with Lancome engraved in it, so it does look quite premium. Removing the lid, there is an open hole so a small amount of the make up remover actually comes out of the bottle with a small squeeze.
- How to use -
It is recommended to apply a few drops (not a huge amount is needed) to a cotton pad and wipe over eyes to remove make up. This can be mascara, eye shadow, eye liner etc. Then wipe clean, gently downwards.
- My experience -
This eye make up is actually a blue liquid which I was a bit surprised with as all my other eye makeup removers are all clear like water. Nevertheless this is suitable for sensitive skin and I have not had any awful reaction with my eyes stinging which I have had in the past with some others!
It is very gentle and light and doesn't feel like a make up remover at all. Almost feels like I am removing my make up with water! To be honest I feel as though I may aswell have done this with water! I wore some mascara and eyeliner out two nights ago and being quite lazy and drunk I slept with it on and in the morning using this remover it wouldn't budge! I literally used over 4 cotton wool pads and kept pouring it out and rubbing my eyes until my eyes were sore from my own constant rubbing rather than the actual make up remover making an ounce of difference. In the end I was late for work so just gave up and figured I didn't care for the last bit of eyeliner that could still partially be seen!
- Overall -
Seems fair to say I wouldn't recommend this in no way shape or form unless you need a spare bottle of useless blue water. It didn't remove my simple collection 2000 eyeliner and avon mascara so I don't have much hopes for it to do much else! A 125ml bottle costs an outrageous £21 and it is far overpriced. Gets 1 star I'm afraid! Read the complete review |
