Advantages: volume, thickness
Disadvantages: clumpy
I have been using this mascara for about a month now. That is when I can be bothered with the time and effort involved in its application... I have relitively short, fine lashes, and am forever on the lookout for something to fool people into thinking otherwise. So naturally when someone in a shop suggested this product to me I had to give it a go. The black looked incrediably dark and a little too striking for everyday wear, so I opted for the brown. The packaging is good and the shape of the bottle is also a clever design for application, as its slightly curved edges prevent the brush from slipping out of your hadn - do other people have this problem?? However, on to the actual product itself. Well, you'll only need a couple of coats of this mascara, as it does exactly what it says it does ans definatly pumps up the volume and thickness of your lashes. However, there is a down side to this, it does have a tendency to go rather clumpy on application, so I would suggest that declumping straight after application is the only option. Not something that we all have time for in the mornings. This can be a right pain, as you can end up loosing lashes, so it is probably best to invest in a brush...or so I keep telling myself. Once on, the mascara stays well, and I have had no problems with it flaking or smearing under my eyes. Removal can be a bit messy though, and I've ruined a coule of towels in the process as it behaves a little like water proof mascara.

shelley.dawson - 21/08/02 Tip to help stop clumping in two stages and works for any mascara:
1: Every 5 or 6 uses, clean the brush on a tissue before you use. Seems extravagant but it stops the BRUSH from clogging up.
2: Place the brush at the base of the top lashes and gently get the brush deep into the lashes with a gentle left-right motion. It's important to get the lashes as deeply as possible into the brush (hence it being so important to have a clean not cloggy brush) so they can really BRUSH through the lashes. Then, slowly pull the brush through the lashes. You'll find a better coating and separation. But, keep that brush clean!! |
