Advantages: Good range of colours, Silky texture, Long-lasting

Disadvantages: Pricey, Poor quality applicator

I'm a big fan of the Lancome Ombre Subtile duo eyeshadows, so I leapt at the chance of trying the Colour Focus eyeshadows fairly soon after they were launched. I was delighted at the range of colours on offer - I'm not the best person at making snap decisions sometimes, and couldn't choose between several different shades - so I bought three! There are some lovely copper brown/bronze/chocolate shades and charcoal greys, plus green, blue or even peach! I settled on 305 (light mauve), 308 (vibrant purple) and 217 (a deep, dusky pink that teams nicely with deep grey shades).

The colours are gorgeous, plus the powder eyeshadow is silky and blends easily, yet the colour effect stays true all day. It didn't irritate my skin at all. The packaging is fairly standard Lancome - black with a splash of gold. It feels a little too flimsy though.

Sadly, the tiny curved brush that comes with the eyeshadow is hard to hold and extremely annoying and difficult to use - there has been more than one occasion when I've accidentally dropped it in the hand basin! Unfortunately, the sponge applicator tip also tends to slip off the plastic wand after just a couple of uses - in my experience all Lancome eyeshadow applicators have been the same. They are quite pricey, too - I think I paid £10 each for mine; it's usually cheaper to buy a duo eyeshadow if you can find one with two shades you like!

To conclude, these eyeshadows offer a good range of colours and are overall a high-quality product, but it's enormously inconvenient to have to use an applicator from another eyeshadow due to the hard-to-handle shape and design fault (disintegrating sponge tip) of the one that comes with the product.
