Bye, bye to the Tangoed look! (Lancôme Flash Bronzer Milk for Face and Body)
Advantages: Natural looking, Minimal odour, Easy to apply Disadvantages: None
Lets face it I'm a fake-tan queen. Ever since the raging hormones of adolesence kicked in and appearance became an issue, I have been a fan of the bronzed look. Even though the result was more orange than tan it was ALWAYS preferable to the cold porridge colour I turned in winter, so orange I remained. Until two years ago that is, when I switched from No.7 to Lancome for a treat! And boy was that good move! All my workmates were confused, as it was too even and realistic for a lotion but neither was my skin leathery like a regular sunbed user (they're way too scarey, I've heard the horror stories).I've been asked many a time whether I have hispanic blood in me (I don't, Irish is as exotic as I get!). I've now perfected the application technique too: ALWAYS exfoliate, but rather than paying a lot for a lotion, just pay 99p for an exfoliating sponge and use your normal shower wash (cheaper, less messy and more effective). Then apply moisturiser and or vaseline to your dryer areas (knees, ankles, elbows etc) otherwise they will absorb more of lotion and you'll end up looking like you've just played a game of football! Despite these measures if you do end up with streaks, toothpaste is a Godsend (particularly the whitening variety. Just leave it on for a few minutes and (gently) scrub off with an old toothbrush. Now that you've learnt my secrets...happy fake-tanning (with no nasty prospects of wrinkles or skin cancer)! Summary: |
