Lancôme Juicy Tubes
Advantages: Long lasting, tastes nice
Disadvantages: A more expensive lip gloss, not much colour from these
The Juicy Tube lip gloss is arguably one of Lancôme's most famous products. Similarly, it is a well known and popular lip gloss brand. I have been a fan of these lip glosses since the age of about 16 when they were the popular thing to have back at school.
The Lancôme juice tube lip glosses come in a wide range of shades. I have tried a few of these and my favourite is number 17 "Fraise" which is a bright pink colour. The shades range from pinks to reds to browns so there is a colour to suit most skin tones and tastes.
The standard size of a juicy tube lipgloss is 15ml and costs £14.50. Lancôme also make smaller sized 7ml juicy tubes which are sometimes given as promotional items or sold in multi packs. When you purchase a full size juicy tube it comes packaged in a cardboard box to protect it. The box has the Lancôme logo on it along with the lip gloss shade name and number.
The lip gloss tubes themselves are made of quite firm plastic. The plastic is clear and you can see the colour of the gloss through it. The lid screws off and the tip of the tube is the lip gloss applicator. The tube itself needs quite a hard squeeze to release the lip gloss onto the applicator.
The lip gloss itself is quite thick when compared to other lip glosses. I find that I only need to squeeze a small amount onto the applicator to cover my lips. The lip gloss does spread well and glides onto your lips easily and evenly. I find this lip gloss to be long lasting and does not need re-applied as often as some cheaper lip glosses I have owned in the past. It does have a slightly sticky feeling on your lips but you get used to this. As with most lip glosses, your hair can get stuck to your lips easily when wearing this, so I tend to avoid it when outdoors on a windy day!
Despite the colours of some of the shades of juicy tube looking quite bright and bold, I find that the lip glosses only produce a slight hint of colouring on your lips and mostly look sheer and glossy. For this reason if I want my lips to have a deeper colour, I will apply lipstick and then put this gloss on over the top of it. I have found that there is not much difference in how some of the shades appear once applied to your lips. The gloss has a sweet and quite pleasant taste to it.
These lip glosses are in the higher price range for a lip gloss. I do think that they are worth it due to the fact that the gloss is long lasting on your lips, and also because only a small amount is required each application meaning the tube lasts a long time. For those of you who prefer a deeper coloured lip gloss, these may not be worth the higher price.
Thanks for reading/rating, I hope you enjoyed my review.
