This is not a cheap mascara, I paid £22 for the So Black colour (this was the only one available so I think it is the only shade they do) which is as you would expect a deep black colour. It comes in a nice sleek black container which is housed in a silver coloured box. There is a grey rose on the black contoured tube and it is a chunky design and quite substantial, it looks very sleek and almost sexy looking and I like the way that it is designed.

My eyes can be a little sensitive at times and I found this to be very gentle when applying it and I had no reaction at all to it. The brush is nice and easy to grip and applying the mascara is very smooth indeed. It has a surprising floral smell to it which is unusual and I initially worried that this would irritate my eyes but that was not the case. I was impressed with how evenly the mascara distributed itself over the brush and this was reflected in the even coating that covered my eye lashes. You can tell that this is a good quality product, the colour is nice and rich while there is absolutely no clumping of the eye lashes and after use they look full bodied and even.

It is long lasting and certainly adds length and body to my eye lashes and the nice dark colour gives them a really clear definition. Despite the dark colour it is not an over powering look that you are left with, instead there is a nice amount of colour and a classy finish to the overall look of my eyes when I wear this. It adds some nice body to my lashes without making them look too heavy and it does add some length and curl as well.

The only real downside is the fact that it is not exactly cheap and you are restricted with regards to the available colour.
