Lancôme Tent Idol
Virtually all make-up addicts have heard of the brand "Lancôme". It's one of the best premium brands in make-up however; I couldn't help feeling rather unsatisfied with this product.
Results
The Lancôme Teint Idole really didn't do my skin any favours, I knew straight away when I pressed down the pump it wasn't going to do anything for my very sensitive skin because it had a lot of fragrance in it. It smells a little bit like baby wipes... which isn't exactly appealing... right?
So anyway, I applied the product already aware this product would be a nightmare for my skin, as I'd used other foundations from the Dior collection that had perfume in them and my skin was left looking really dry and dull.
First impressions were not good, I must admit it covered all my flaws on my skin, the colour was shocking despite been told by the make-up staff that it was the perfect match for my skin (it really wasn't it didn't match my neck at all) It's the 03 shade which is a really weird red/beige colour.. Something that wouldn't look good on even Megan Fox's skin.
So the colour was definitely a no go, oh and the fragrance... but did it leave my skin looking good? Yes and no... ok so at first dark circles were no longer visible which is always a good factor for foundation... however the next day my skin was really dry after just ONE whole day of wearing the product it had completely dried my skin out despite the fact my skin wasn't dry beforehand it was pretty balanced after using a wonderful moisturizer from Boots which had sorted all my dry skin issues out.
I must admit, this product could really look good on other people's skin, but it really didn't work out for my skin type because my skin is incredibly sensitive.
I personally think it's a product that would work best with people who have oily skin because it really dries your skin out even more if you have dry skin or combination skin and leaves it looking very matte and also for those who have sensitive skin like myself.
What I do like about the foundation is my skin does look pretty good on photos with it on, I don't know whether it's a good thing that it only seems to look great on photographs? Looking back at some of the photos I took on a weekend in Manchester my skin looks really good and dewy, however the next day my skin looked the complete opposite to dewy that's for sure.
Packaging
The Lancôme Teint Idole comes in a cute bottle with a black lid and white writing. It says on the front: "Enduringly divine comfort make-up 14h retouch- free oil- free"
Although the claims on the bottle meet up with the standards of the product: it's definitely oil free and it's definitely retouch free because it's very matte once it's on so you don't need to add anymore power through the day or foundation because it just seems to sit there, it did however disappoint me with how my skin looked the day after.
Additional information on my experience of this product
I haven't thrown this product away, two reasons for this: 1. I have used it only a few times so I have loads left. 2. I have kept it as an "emergency foundation" so when my gorgeous Chanel tient foundation runs out I'll have to use this fragrance filled product.
The product is about £26 which is a few pounds cheaper than my original foundation from Chanel.
I will definitely be sticking to my Chanel foundation which I've used for nearly a year, I only bought this for a change but it's obvious that this product is definitely not right for my skin, but could potentially look good on other peoples skin if they don't have sensitive skin like mine.
Conclusively, I would surprisingly recommend this product, because it does cover flaws really well and probably would work well on other people's skin just not mine that is all.
Summary: good product but not for me!
