Belkin 10.2" Netbook Carry Case with Shoulder Strap
After I got my pretty little netbook I decided that I needed to get a bag to cart it about in. I had a quick look around the shop I was in and picked out this rather attractive looking Belkin carry case and unfortunately I was disappointed with this case as soon as I tried to use it. I own several of Belkin products and this one just doesn't live up to the standard that I have come to expect from them.
It is advertised that it is a perfect fit for 10.2" Laptops. However, this is not entirely what I have found. My Netbook does fit in, it is just a bit too snug for comfort. I often struggle getting this in and then getting it out again, in reality the bag needs to be just a fraction bigger to make for convenient use.
I didn't think it through properly when I bought this bag as there is no pocket for you to put the power supply or a mouse in. That means that unless the netbook is fully charged and I am only going out for a couple of hours, then I need to take an additional bag or just use another carry case.
The picture above shows the black version, I own this in the rather attractive jet set red. It does look very nice and it is comfortable to carry round, the shoulder strap is adjustable and it is nice having the option of a sturdy handle. The adjustable strap is also detachable, so this can convert into something similar to one of the sleeves but thicker.
It is a sturdy bag and does look like a quality product it just has a few flaws that mean that there are better options out there. I've read some other reviews that have said that because of the position of the zip they have scratched their netbook getting it in and out, I haven't found this, but then again I haven't used this carry case much because I don't overly like it.
-- The cost--
This is widely available from most stores that sell netbooks but at the moment you can buy this from Amazon for £10.99, with a recommended retail price of £19.99. However, if you want the jet set red colour it will cost more, currently it is selling for £12.28 from Amazon.
--My overall opinion--
Overall, I think I am going to give this two out of five stars, I rarely use this bag and in fact I have purchased another different one. If you are looking for a carry case for your netbook I would consider looking at something else or at least try one out in store so that you know whether your netbook will fit. I still trust Belkin as the brand and this is the only product from them that I have not loved. There are better carry cases out there for the money you are paying.
