When I bought my latest laptop I went for quite an expensive model and was keen to stop it from getting scratched or damaged so I decided it was time to start searching for a sleeve. After browsing on Amazon I settled on this floral one by Belkin as it was the perfect size, pretty and cost only £9.99.
I really like the look of this case - the outer neoprene material is shiny with a grey-coloured floral pattern while the soft lining inside is a nice, girly pale pink. The material is very lightweight so doesn't add much weight to the laptop allowing it to be carried around easily although as this is a sleeve not a case there is no handle to hold onto. Although fairly thin the material also looks and feels quite protective. An important point is that there no pockets aside from the main central compartment, although there is a zip which goes around the side to firmly secure the laptop inside. The case measures 37.1 (W) x 3.2 (D) x 31.5 (H) cm which makes it suitable for a 15.4" laptop or notebook. Mine fits inside snugly so doesn't move around inside, although the fabric is slightly stretchy so you might be able to accommodate a slightly larger sized laptop.
The sleeve is very soft and comprised mainly of a fabric-like material which means that while it is really effective at stopping the outer surface of the laptop from getting scratched or protecting it from light knocks or bumps, if you were to drop the laptop or bang it quite hard then you would need a more robust case. I only really use my laptop around the house so this sleeve is perfect but for those who travel a lot with their laptop then a stronger case would probably offer more protection and be easier to carry.
Overall I've been impressed by this case and am glad I chose it. It is well-made with high-quality material that has lasted a long time with no obvious signs of wear. It does exactly what I need it to and its really convenient to just slip the laptop inside at any time. I would definitely recommend it.
I bought this Laptop case two years ago to cater for my Mac. I have since bought a new Mac which it fits too!
WHY I PURCHASED
The main reason I bought this case was due to the - colour, a nice pink to ensure it was girly and it was - plump as i'm quite clumsy I tend to drop things alot and bang my stuff on things do this makes sure that nothing inside would be damaged or scratched in any of these possible scenarios, Belkin tends to be a good make and the material shows this.
- The colour means it can be used a fashion accessory also, so you can take it around with you like a hand bag.
Furthermore it is more small and compact than a large carry case that people often use for their laptops.
-Light weight, when not being used the case is not an effort to transport from place to place is it is light
-Foldable, as the point before states it allows for ease of transportation, you can fold it and put it into another bag.
-A problem I have found is that if you have pets and they come anywhere near this their hair sticks to it and gets embedded in the fabric which makes the case look and feel dirty.
-Also the zip handle has come off which means its a bit of a struggle to do up and un do the case at times.
-It can be a bit of a pain to carry as it does not have candles and its a smooth fabric which means is it liable to dropping.
Though it has done the job I purchased it for as my laptop (TOUCH WOOD) has not yet been damaged.
This is a very handy item as it allows you to carry around your laptop whilst not damaging it, WITHOUT lugging around a huge, unfashionable laptop carry bag.
Belkin Floral Sleeve For 15.4" Laptops
After my husband reclaimed his Belkin neoprene sleeve that I had pilfered and been using for my own laptop I decided to purchase myself another one. That is when I came across the Belkin Floral sleeve, which is slightly more interesting than the brown/blue one I had previously been using. I do own a separate carry case for my laptop, but sometimes it is just easier to take one handbag, with everything in it rather than multiple bags that can become a bit of a pain to carry.
Belkin are a well know brand within the computing industry and deliver quality products (I own quite a few) and this one is no exception. It both feels and looks well made and if my previous one is anything to go by this will last me for quite a while before it needs replaced. The picture above suggests that this is a grey colour but it is more of a greenish/grey shade with a pink inside and pink floral pattern.
This is a light weight neoprene sleeve that is meant to protect your laptop when being carried around. It is a great product if you are carrying your laptop around in another bag, or for storing it while not in use. However, this is only a light weight carrier and will not prevent damage if you drop or bash your laptop while using it. It will however keep it safe from bumping into other things inside your bag, it also keeps it clean. I often carry makeup as well as everything bar the kitchen sink in my bag and these sleeves give me some piece of mind that my expensive laptop is being looked after as much as possible.
This has an asymmetrical zipper (i.e., two zippers) that provides easier access, or at least makes it less fiddly to use. Really apart from looking smart I don't think there are many benefits two zips over one on a case like this delivers.
These are a good fit, it's not too snug on my 15.4'' laptop but it is secure enough to keep it safe.
If for some reason you need to give this a clean, I just use a slightly damp cloth and most marks come right out. I also often use this as a work surface to put my laptop on if I am out and about and the table doesn't look the cleanest. It's harder to de-sticky your laptop than it is this sleeve.
I purchased mine from ebay for around about £10, which is roughly about the price that you would expect to pay for a Belkin neoprene sleeve.
Belkin are a really good brand, I own a couple of their items and they always deliver a reliable product that does its job and lasts. These neoprene sleeves really do a good job at adding a much needed level of protection for your laptop, especially if like me you just grab yours and throw it in whatever bag you are leaving with. I really like this neoprene sleeve and it is both functional and stylish and well deserves a full five out of five star rating. The only downside to this neoprene sleeve is that it is a tad girly so not for everyone's taste.
When we finally upgraded from a desk top pc to a lovely laptop, it soon became my favourite electrical item which we own. Plus being slightly on the expensive side, I didn't want it to come to any harm (I need to shop after all!) or end up damaged so I went on the hunt for a laptop case.
I wanted something a little bit girly for a case (my husband did not get chance to air his opinion on this and seeing as I am the one who uses the internet most I thought that was fair, LOL) and was pleased to come across this Belkin Floral sleeve case for it on eBay. It cost me £9.00 with postage which I thought was pretty cheap.
When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the case. It is made of neoprane which is a material which is soft and shiny. It is also an elastic like material. Although I haven't spilled anything on it yet, the material gives the impression that it is easy to clean and a damp cloth would do the trick nicely.
The case is well put together and stitched nice and tightly. You can't even see the seams where it has been put together which I think is a good thing as it makes the case look well finished and a little bit more expensive. The zip wraps around the whole thing and is nice and chunky and appears to be quite strong. I have had this for a while now and the zip has never failed or broken off.
The case measures 37.1 cm x 3.2 cm x 31.5 cm and is suitable for laptaps which are 15.4". Mine fits in it perfectly and there is still room to spare. I think you could probably squeeze a slightly bigger one in.
Don't be fooled into thinking that this case will protect your laptop should you drop as it won't. It isn't padded enough to prevent damage from being dropped. It is very thin and is mearly to prevent scratches and scuffs to your laptop.
The picture DooYoo has up would make you believe that the case is grey and pink but it isn't, it is actually khaki and pink. It is a bit like army meets girliness. It has little flowers printed on it to make it a little bit more girly too.
Should anything happen to the laptop case, for example, the stitching comes undone then Belkin actually offer a lifetime warranty with this product which I think is great and I have never come across a company which does this.
I would definately recommend this case for a little bit of protection for your lap top and also if you want a different case to all the black and dreary ones out there.
