I nearly always buy Belkin products when it comes to things for my computer because they are always excellent quality and always much lower priced than competing brands. This is the sleeve that I had for my old netbook that served me really well and protected my netbook from scrapes and bumps. I checked my Amazon history and I paid £8.99 for this which I think is a really good price. They are currently being sold direct from Amazon for £13.99 but they can be bought from third party sellers a little bit cheaper. I would have to say that I think this is a good price as although I haven't used this for ages since I now have an ultrabook I found it in my spare room earlier and it still looks absolutely immaculate. The sleeve is made from Neoprene which looks and feels like a sort of soft fabric rubber. It looks and feels like what a wet suit is made from and is soft and slightly spongy so is good for protecting delicate laptops. The one that I have is exactly the same as the dooyoo picture and is black on the outside and red on the inside. It has a zip for opening and closing the sleeve and even this is good quality and zips opened and closed perfectly and it doesn't get caught or feel stiff. This protects really well so is ideal for throwing into your bag or backpack. Even though the sleeve isn't all that thick it does protect well. A hard case might be better to protect your netbook or laptop from really heavy items and high drops but that isn't what this sleeve is for. It is to protect your laptop or netbook from light pressure and also just to stop it getting scuffed and banged about in a bag. I found this to be quite roomy for my netbook and it wasn't a struggle to get it in or out. It is just a sleeve though so there is no room for cables etc and if you need to be able to fit your cables and chargers then you need to get a proper case and not just a sleeve. I used this sleeve for ages and all the time as I used to carry my netbook around with me in my backpack all the time and as I said it is still in excellent condition so it is certainly really good quality. I no longer use it as unfortunately it doesn't fit my ultrabook but I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good quality netbook sleeve that is between 10 and 12 inches.
I was attempting to haggle down the price of a netbook (which I then bought), when the sales assistant told me he could throw in this cover for free. Realising I wasn't going to get the price down any lower and that the poor man was offering the best possible price I accepted and have been using it for the past few years. The Product --------------- This netbook sleeve is made from high quality neoprene and feels strong yet flexible and has a soft, almost fleecy lining to prevent scratching. It has an asymmetrical zip so that it can be opened in either direction and the zip tabs are coated in soft touch plastic. It is available in two colourways, black/red and turquoise/brown and fits netbooks up to 12.1 inches measured diagonally. I have the black and red version. Measurements ------------------- Size: 35 x 30 x 5cm Weight: 299g Price ------ I got it for free with a netbook but it retails for £10 - £20 instore and online. My Experience ------------------ I got this with my HP Mini 110 and it fits perfectly, providing a snug fit and good protection against scratches and minor bumps. I put my netbook in and out of it daily and the zip is still strong and the sleeve hasn't deformed at all. Because it barely adds any bulk or weight to the netbook it's convenient to put in a bag or backpack when going away and has just enough space left inside to store my Kindle as well! I feel it's done an excellent job of protecting my netbook over the years and it's a good quality and reliable item. The plain black body and deep red zip and accents look smart and subtle and I think it looks good both at home or in a professional environment. Should it get grubby I would suggest hand washing rather than putting it in the washing machine as although neoprene is washable I've had mixed results with other products in the past. Whatever you do don't tumble dry it or any other neoprene items as they will deform or at the worst go crispy! I learnt this lesson with a neoprene phone case years ago. Recommendation ---------------------- I am happy to highly recommend this to anyone looking for a netbook sleeve that it low profile and good quality, yet another great and affordable product from Belkin.
Belkin Neoprene Sleeve for Netbooks up to 12.1" **** Background/ History... Going slightly back to late 2010... I purchased a brand new shiny pink Sony Vaio netbook! (Screen size being approximately 10.2 inches). The only trouble was I did not have a case for transporting it or protecting it from scratches/damage as my old laptop (17 inches) was far too big and bulky that it wasn't possible to use my old case that to being enormous. I stumbled across this Belkin sleeve whilst browsing online for sleeves/ cases after not finding anything in stores at a bargain price of just a fiver on Amazon. It was exactly what I was after even if it wasn't pink! I wasn't concerned about the sleeve being for netbooks up to 12.1 inches as long as it fitted inside - it was only a fiver and would keep my netbook protected for the time being. I awaited delivery! **** The Belkin Neoprene Sleeve... It arrived a couple of days later. It was black on the outside with a red zip (it has two zips that come together), quite an unusual combination of colours but works really well I thought. It doesn't stand out as to draw attention to the fact that you have a netbook in your bag and it is quite basic - it is a sleeve and it doesn't pretend otherwise. So the moment of truth was would it fit my netbook (10.2 inches) & surprisingly it fitted to a tee, with minimal space around the edges it was ideal, I was extremely happy with my 'bargain'! **** What makes it so special?? The Belkin sleeve uses Neoprene which is a material similar to sponge & feels very smooth to touch, no chance of it slipping out of your hands! Neoprene is a great material for protecting fragile items against bangs, bumps, other items in your bag, scratches and so forth. **** How do I carry the power plug?? Well it is a sleeve and like I said above it doesn't pretend to be anything other then a sleeve, it is there to protect your netbook from dust, scratches and bumps. I just slot the power plug into my bag and I don't worry if the plug scratches my Belkin sleeve as it know it is protected. **** Roll on 2013.... Three years later I am still using this sleeve. It still looks brand new and it has been used quite a bit, the zips show no sign of wear or tear and the stitching is intact. I am definitely impressed and would highly recommend this for other netbook users. I took a chance with my 10.2 inch netbook and I am glad I did as it is a very good investment. These retail now at about £7.99 which shows me that they are still holding their own on the market!
WHAT IS IT? A small soft sleeve that you use for when you need to transport a Netbook that has got a screen size of 12.1" or less. THE DESIGN The sleeve is very good, it is soft on the inside and the outside and that protects my Netbook from being damaged if I bang it or if it is in my bag and I am not being very careful. There are zips on 3 of the sides and that it good because the last neoprene sleeve I had only had one zip and that made it quite hard to slide my Netbook out sometimes so I am glad that I can open this sleeve up better. There are a few colours you can pick and mine is red and black but I only got that one because I bought it online and did not have a choice. I am happy with the one they sent to me but like the dark gray one also so I will order that one as well because I like to have 2 of everything so that I always can choose and do not have to settle for one colour or style. WHAT DO YOU NEED IT FOR AND DOES IT WORK? I bought my sleeve because I carry a lot of bags every day and did not need a large laptop bag for my small Netbook. I carry it every day in my career as a mobile beautician and on those days I am already carrying my cosmetics bags and boxes, if I am using it on a personal day out then I have a changing bag because my daughter is still a baby so I did not want to have to carry another bag. It is to keep my Netbook safe from being knocked when I am transporting it. I am careful that I do not bang my bags anyway but I think that using this sleeve has stopped the lid of my Netbook from getting scratched like it would if it was loose in my bag. I think also that it would protect it from a small knock but I still would not want to drop it because I think that is too hard for a sleeve like this. WHAT I THINK I am very happy with my Netbook sleeve and even though it is a little bit more expensive than other sleeves I like Belkin products and think that they are always reliable. I like that the zips open in lots of different ways because sometimes I am in a rush to make notes on my client files and I am glad to be able to reach my Netbook quick. I like also that the zips work smoothly even though the sleeve is very soft, using the zip does not pull the fabric and make it go out of shape. There is no room in the sleeve for my charger and that is a pity because I have to charge my Netbook while I am out sometimes and would like to be able to keep my charger with it. I do not like to have so many wires loose in my bag and I think they should make the sleeve with a little pocket on the end for my charger to go in. My Netbook is made by Acer and I can fit my kindle or Ipad into the sleeve if I want to take that out with me, I have to take my kindle out of the case first but that does not matter to me. I like that my sleeve has stayed looking very clean even though I have used it a lot. It looked dirty recently so I wiped it with a wet cloth and that cleaned it so that it looks like new again now. I think if you picked a lighter colour it would look dirty quick because of the sort of fabric it is. When I had this new it smelled very bad like dirty plastic, I could smell it through the envelope and hated using it at first. I was in a computer shop and looked at some other sleeves and they are all the same, the smell went away but only after a few weeks. ANYTHING ELSE This sleeve cost £9 and I am very happy with my purchase. 5 Dooyoo Stars.
this does a great job protecting my laptop and it fits very comfortably into the case. The case is made of great quality material and is thick enough to give graet protection to my laptop without making it look too bulky and big, and i think will probably outlast my laptop. for the quality and duability of this case it is a very reasonable price. The case does have a very strong smell of neoprene for the first few weeks of purchase but does eventually wear off. it is also very easy to handle which makes it very easy to carry around as the surface is not slippery, although one thing that would make this laptop case perfect is a small handle or strap to get hold of to make carrying for a longer period of time or with other items even easier. the case also comes in various colours to choose from overall a great choice to help protect your laptop.
I bought this Neoprene sleeve when I bought my old netbook. I got it so that I would be able to put it in my bag or in my car without having to worry about getting it all scratched and damaged. I bought it from Amazon and although they are currently selling it for £11.18 I only paid £7.99 for it. This seems like too big a price increase to me so perhaps it would pay to shop around a little before deciding where to buy it from. The sleeve is made from Neoprene which is a spongy material that sort of feels like a soft rubber. It is a little bit weird to the touch but even though it is thin the Neoprene does a good job of absorbing impacts and shocks. I wouldn't recommend dropping your laptop or netbook from any great height while it is in this sleeve but it will do an adequate job of protecting it from little bumps such as if you accidentally bang your bag against a door (which is something that I seem to do on a regular basis). The sleeve looks good and is red and black and I happen to think it is quite funky and I also think that it looks more expensive than it actually was and I wouldn't be embarrassed to take it out on the train or in a coffee shop. It is made by Belkin who do loads of inexpensive accessories for laptops and phones and I find them to be just as good normally as the more expensive brands. I own quite a few Belking products as they are usually really good quality and this sleeve matches up well with the other Belkin products that I own in the quality department. It is made really well and looks just as good as other more expensive sleeves especially as it was cheaper than a lot of other sleeves that I looked at. The stitching is all stitched together really securely and there are no gaps or frayed edges even though it was well used. The zip part is also still intact and working smoothly. The sleeve is designed for netbooks up to 12.1 inches but I have to say it is definitely way bigger than this as my old netbook used to have loads of space and it would be slip about the inside of the case. I didn't think this was a major problem as the Neoprene did stop it from getting damaged but it might be something to consider before you think of buying it. Although it is recommended for laptops and netbooks up to 12.1 inches I would say look for another sleeve if your netbook is a 10 inch one. This was a good sleeve for me and it is still looking good even though I have had it for a couple of years. I wouldn't say it is the best sleeve around but it is really good value and for that reason I can forgive some of its faults such as being a little bigger than would probably be ideal. If you actually have a 12.1 inch laptop and not something smaller then I really do think you would be hard pressed to find a sleeve that matched its quality in the same price range.
