I purchased two Belkin 15.6" Laptop Sleeves one in the blue colour and the other in red colour. I decided to purchase two as I needed one for my laptop and my partner also needed one for his laptop, so considering it cost a reasonable £14.13 from Amazon I decided I might as well purchase two.
Out With The Old....In With The New....
The main reason for purchasing this notebook/laptop sleeve is because me and my partner desperately needed something to protect our laptops from scratches and dust, especially as we both tend to use it on the move and therefore needed something to provide sufficient protection while also being easy to transport. I previously owned a laptop bag but found it was just too bulky and started to look dated and used, therefore I was after a more trendy looking protection solution and found this ticked all the boxes.

Material & Size...
I use this with my Laptop which is 16 inches in size and it fits securely into the sleeve, I was not sure whether it would fit or whether it would be a tight squeeze considering it was meant for 15.6 inches but thankfully it does, in fact it actually has a little room to spare which is surprising. The sleeve is made from neoprene material which is waterproof, and also looks quite attractive and clean as the material doesn't allow dust to build up.
The laptop sleeve has one compartment for the laptop/netbook which measures 33 x 41.7 x 3.2 cm in size. I found it very easy to slide the device into the compartment due to the stretchy material and once the device is inserted into the sleeve the compartment is can then be closed off by a zip which travels around the 4 sides. I like the idea of fastening with a zip, as it keeps the laptop more secure and less likely falling out compared to my older laptop bag that had Velcro closing that eventually lost its stickiness.
The sleeve material is durable and therefore hasn't suffered any wear or tear as of yet and we have had ours for two years. The zip is also strong and sturdy so it will only open if you want to open it by hand, rather than opening up while carrying it. The sleeve does what I want it to and provides a good amount of protection to prevent scratches and dust build up, and I have not experienced my laptop developing any scratches or dents while I have been using this sleeve. I personally would have liked it to have a slightly thicker cushion protection than it does, as I would imagine if I was to accidently drop my laptop while in the sleeve it could still cause a few scratches etc.
Lightweight & Easy to Wipe...
The sleeve is easy enough to hold, and as the material is quite light it makes carrying it around that much easier. The sleeve is also easy to wipe, I have managed to spill a few liquids on the sleeve and find a simple wipe with a cloth easily removes any spillage. Although the sleeve is nice a compact and has one compartment it would have been good to have a couple of other small compartments for holding usb, memory cards etc.

Overall this sleeve provides a good solution for protecting my laptop from scratches and dust, it holds the device securely and also has an attractive design. The only slight negative is that I would have liked the cushioned material to be slightly thicker just for a peace of mind really, but that is only a minor negative. All in all this Belkin Neoprene Sleeve for Notebooks up to 15.6 is highly recommendable.
In my situation, I seldom need to carry a laptop with me on travel or business purposes. I normally take my iPad or the traditional pen and paper. However, when my laptop is sitting around in the house, I like to protect it from dirt, dust and potential damage, but did not want a bulky case. The ones on the Dell website when I purchased my laptop were either too expensive or big. I came across this one in PC World I think in town.
DESIGN AND FEATURES
The case or sleeve is made of a neoprene fabric as the name would suggest. They are available in a range of colour combinations. You can get chocolate/baby blue, or a more traditional, as in my case, Black/Red.
The outside is made of the black and the lining is a softer red. The case fits laptops up to 15.6 inches. A note to buyers is that it would look very strange if your computer is much less than this and I believe there is a more suitable 13 inch version available. The bag itself just covers around your laptop so measures about 40x28cm, just slightly larger than the laptop itself!
There is what they describe as a unique zipper, it operates in such a fashion that you can either pull your laptop out the side or the top of the bag.
I should mention that the bag is not thick, but at the same time does not feel flimsy by anyone's judgement. I noticed that the zip is also very sturdy and there hasn't been a breakage in my case in over 18 months.
I think this is a great laptop sleeve or case. It is important to mention that it will most definitely not protect against dropping your laptop, or sitting on it. But it does protect it from getting scratched or dusty. It is available for just around £10 online and in a number of stores. There is no additional storage with this sleeve; it only holds the laptop and no leads or input accessories - you should bear that in mind when looking at your options.
This Belkin Neoprene Sleeve was one of the first cases I tried when I bought my last 15.6" Laptop. The advantages of a neoprene sleeve case are the fact my laptop fits into it very snugly and is protected due to the spongy neoprene material. My laptop neatly fits into it and is then protected from dust and dirt, particularly scatches to the lid. I paid around £12 a couple of years back, and I think they are priced similarly now. With laptops coming in a wide range of sizes these days I would suggest anyone looks at their size before purchase.
There are many different designs and brands around, so it can be a bit of a minefield when it comes to picking the right one. Usually my decision is based on colour. I liked the black finish as I thought it was very clean and professional, the baby blue lining also sets it off very well. There is no getting away from the neoprene material, and I love this stuff! It reminds me of the beach on holiday when I used to go surfing. The sleeve feels real good quality and the zip on the sleeve feels robust and I can't see it breaking easily. For the price paid I would definately say it is worth it as I have used it for 2 years without failure.
There is a wide range of colours available from Belkin in this model and there is something for everyone. The outer colour comes in black and grey, with linings of baby blue, lime green etc. The laptop sleeve has just a single compartment which holds the laptop, so there is no room for accessories, but this never put me off it. The zip goes around all 4 sides of the sleeve, so the fit is a little tighter than on most cases. This allows easy access and removal. As the sleeve only has the one compartment it means it is very compact and doesn't add any bulk to the size of the laptop, so it is easy to store into a bag. I carry accessories seperately but I use this laptop for general internet use in and around the house, so I just use the sleeve to store the laptop when not in use.
I've had my laptop for a number of years and have never really bothered about keeping it clean, or safe for that matter! After spilling an entire packet of oats over my keyboard and spending the next two hours cleaning it all out I realised a case might be helpful in preventing such occurances!
After having a look around on Amazon I found this Belkin Laptop Sleeve for £6 plus delivery. This was cheap enough I thought that if even I didn't get much use out of it that I wouldn't have wasted much money in the process.
The sleeve is made of neoprene, a material you'll be more familiar with as a wetsuit. I purchased the model in brown and blue, or what Belkin themselves describe as "Neoprene Choc/Tourmaline". It's a nice subtle colour combination that doesn't stand out too much but still looks elegant and stylish. The sleeve itself is marketed at 15.6" laptops, anything else can be catered for by Belkin's other laptop products. My laptop is older and has quite a tight fit in the laptop case due to it's increased bulk. I'm sure a Macbook Pro or a more modern laptop will fit far looser and may even allow for you to also carry some papers or CD's on the inside. Unfortunately you can't fit the power supply into the bag itself and have to carry it separately. This isn't really a downpoint however as the product is only advertised as a sleek protective device for the laptop itself.
The build quality is surprisingly good for a £6 product. The neoprene stretches well and repels most stains. The zip is made of metal and hasn't shown any signs of deterioration since I bought it.
Overall I'm very happy with my £6 investment and would advise anyone looking for a laptop sleeve to look at the Belkin range. They are also available in 14" and 13" for smaller laptops.
I bought this for my laptop because I thought it was a good way of protecting it form dust and scratches when not in use. I did have a laptop bag but it was just really ugly and I usually never put my laptop into it after use. Too much effort! Besides it would just end up being kicked or pushed around on the office floor so I thought this Belkin sleeve would help me take better care of my computer.
I bought it online £15 a few years ago for my laptop which was 15.6 inches. The sleeve itself is from neoprene which is similar to a wet suit. It doesn't attract dust but it can stain if something is dropped on it. Not permanently however because it can be wiped with a clean cloth after. I have dropped coffee, yogurt, coke but to name a few and was able to remove all of these from the cover!
It is available in a range of colours but I chose mine in grey on the exterior and lime green in the interior and this looks really well. The sleeve has just one pocket for the laptop. The sleeve is opened by a zip that goes around four sides of the sleeve. I found it very easy to get the laptop in and out by this. It would be nice if there was an extra pocket to store flash drives and maybe CD's too but alas this would probably only make it bulky. As it is, it is not that bulky at all and would easily slip into your laptop bag as a source of added protection.
I used a HP laptop inside and had no functional difficulties with it. I found it easy to carry around and easy on the eye too! The zip seems like it would take a lot of abuse and the neoprene material holds really well too. It wouldn't tear easily and protects really well.
Now this Neoprene sleeve is primarily meant to be used as Laptop and for most laptops this would be a great choice the Neoprene is durable and fairly flexible which allows you transport bulkier piece like chargers and there is padding in the sleeve for added protection and you can rest this on your lap whilst using your laptop.
The size of this sleeve allows you to carry it very easily in suitcases and for the students satchels as well
Now for me I use this for transporting a variety of gadgets my small netbook, mobile phone, and several portable games consoles, and they all arrive clean and intact. The zip is well built sensibly located and easy to open and close
On the internet I have only seen this colour combination so it does lack a bit in personalisation but this product serves it purpose as a laptop case very well
I bought a Belkin Neoprene Sleeve recently for two main reasons. One, I was a bid fed up of cleaning the crumbs, dust and dirt out from under my laptop keys after carrying it around in my rucksack and two, my girlfriend kept using it as a makeup table and it was getting scuffed and puffed.
I was really impressed with the quality of the sleeve and was happy to pay more to get one that felt stronger, looked nicer and wasn't as badly put together as the Asda own brand sleeve to mention but one. I can now leave my laptop zipped up safely in itds sleeping bag lying around and be sure that it won't get covered in some sort of mascara gloop. Also, carrying it around in my rucksack is much safer and keeps it clean and crud free.
Ok so what's it like?....
Well, the Neoprene (soft shiny, stretchy, elasticy sort of material) is easy to clean and wipe down, does not crease tear or fall to bits and is stitched very well. The style of the sleeve is pretty nice with a sort of blood red colour on the outside edge and inside, The zip is well made, chunky and strong and has survived a fair bit of zipping!
The protection that the sleeve offers does not include preventing damage if dropped! But then that's not the idea with this one. It is probably only about 2cm thick BUT does provide more protection than I expected. My laptop (Acer 5536-744G) is a perfect fit as it is a 15.6" screen and there's space inside to put some papers and a mouse pad too if you like.
I would say it's definitely spending a little more to keep your laptop comfy and safe and this is the perfect sleeve for me. I believe it is also offered in loads of other sizes and some other colours for netbooks and smaller devices. Well done Belkin.
I recently purchased an apple macbook pro 15" and wanted to buy a case which was cheap, but did the job, the ones in the apple store were quite expensive and i thought that most of the sleeves would be fairly similar.
I got the belkin case off of amazon for £10.80 a few months back, which I thought was a reasonable price, so I didnt end up paying more than i thought i needed to.
The case itself is of good quality, with a decent zip going around the outside, and the neoprene being durable. However, unlike the more expensive cases, the belkin does not have a furry interior, but that is no real problem. Also on the downside, the case is a bit large for the laptop, so there is some excess room in there, having said that, it is better than it being to small, but if you are looking for something which is perfect then this is not the one to go for. If you laptop is thicker than a macbook then it would probably take up the excess space and be a snug fit.
Lastly there are 2 colour choices i have found, the blue and browny colour (shown by picture) or a red and black case.
In short, a cheap and cheerful laptop case.
