Seeing that you are viewing this page, you must be looking for a laptop bag that is fashionable yet comfortable to carry around. You might also be familiar with the Crumpler brand, which produces great quality bags for a variety of products ranging from cameras to laptops. The Crumpler logo also features one of the cutest characters which you will be proud of carrying on your shoulder.
The Crumpler Fishy Slip shoulder bag is advertised for 12"up to 14" laptop, and comes in 4 colours (Black, Olive, Red, and Grey). The fabric used in making this bag is of ChickenTex SupremeTM quality (ChickenTex?? Is that some kind of chicken feather fabricated material?), and is waterproof and tear proof. It is also very soft and shiny due to the neoprene on the bag. When you open the bag by unlocking the two snap handles, you will notice the spacious compartments which are divided into 3 sections; the laptop padded compartment, books compartment and stationary compartment. Like the salesman in the Crumpler store said to me, you can unclip it, sling it over your back *swoop* and then hook it up to transform it into a backpack which is quite a useful feature in cases where you don't want to have it over your shoulder. Sounds like the bag just had a third leg, or chicken feet I suppose.
Normally, I use it as a schoolbag with no laptop, and I find that I can stuff numerous folders, a writing pad and a water bottle without it being bulky at all. If you are worried about the books damaging your laptop, then worry no more as the padded compartment is very secure and does it job. My stationeries are all placed in its compartment nicely with the additional pockets for your pens and such. When I do need to carry my laptop around, I remove the water bottle and it fits nicely. I even took it further by carrying two laptops (10"and 13") and both of them fits snugly inside the bag with a writing pad. While carrying the bag, I feel only little weight and it doesn't bump into other objects as often as my other bags since it is quite small in size.
During the first few weeks, my black Crumpler Fishy Slip attracted my attention every time I glanced at it, but soon after that, it got boring. Black for this bag is quite dull, as with any other black bags, therefore I advise you to get maybe the Red colour as it is bright and more interesting unless you are looking for a semi-professional bag. Also, one problem I noticed with this bag is its adjustable strap which is quite hard to fix in position when you adjusted it to your needs. You have to clip it to part of the bag which if not done properly, will always fall out of position. However, you shouldn't worry about it tearing as it is made using very durable fabric.
All in all, I fell in love with my bag at first sight, and it has proven itself useful on several occasions when I needed space, comfort and looks. This bag will provide you with these three things, and I seriously can't see any fault with it. It is actually worth every penny of the £67 that I paid for it.
