I was surprised to find that there are very few reviews for laptop cases on dooyoo. However, after thinking about it, I realised this is probably because laptop cases are simple products that do a rather boring job, with very few interesting features to write about. This is true, yet I will still provide feedback on my current laptop case which I have been happy with for the last 6 months. I will try my best to make this worthwhile, but please bear in mind that this is a rather unimposing product with isn't shouting out for attention.
I paid around £45 for my case 6 months ago. A quick search online at the time of writing this review shows that it can now be purchased for £32.54 on Amazon with £28-31 being common elsewhere.
The Targus Pro XXL specifications can be summarised as:
Compatible Screen Size: 18" *which is quite large, I have a 17" laptop.
Case Type: Briefcase *this is my preferred way of carrying laptops as I can always keep my eye on it.
Case material: Nylon
It has the following dimensions- Width 489 mm (19.25 inches), Height 327mm (12.87 inches), Depth 102 mm (4.02 inches).
The case itself weights 1500g and is comfortable when travelling with it.
This is a reliable case which after 6 months of use shows little ware. The material protects my laptop well and also being quite large holds much more than just my laptop. There are handy pockets which I use for documents and my power lead.
This is a very clean, well designed product which will appeal to anyone with a laptop bigger than 15". The zips are strong which is a sign of quality and have never jammed. I think the price is good for a product which has clearly been designed to last. I suspect I will be able to get a further 6-12 months out of it.
Where can I start?! This is a laptop case of top class and is, quite simply, the best of the best. It is made of quality nylon to ensure it's strong enough to hold and protect your laptop inside- which is rather important if you're constantly moving it from place to place!! You can have some peace of mind and put it on the back seat without fear that if it falls off your laptop will be no more! Not only this, but it is an absolutely gorgeous case and is styled with utmost perfection and the designers have thought of everything! It can carry latops of up to 18 inches and there's a fully adjustable strap which you can put over your shoulder to carry it and so the strap doesn't dig into your shoulder like many laptop cases, they've added a wonderfully comfortable cushioned shoulder strap. If this doesn't float your boat and you don't want to be seen with what appears to be a 'manbag' then this strap can be easily removed and instead you can go for the briefcase approach and the case can be carried with the carefully moulded plastic handle. If you travel a lot this bag also has a strap fitted allowing you to safely secure it to your luggage when you go away on business or on holiday. Also, for material documents you need to carry around there is a front and back zip up pocket although these are easily snuck into if in a crowded area so I find just tying a piece of string through the holes is more comforting.
Although all this quality and reassurance does come at a price, most prices float around £40 but then I saw it as more an investment to keep a lot of my work out of harms way.
