--- Introduction ---
I have had this laptop case for quite a while now. When I went to university I knew I would need to be carrying my laptop to and from my lectures so I looked for a reasonably priced case. This case set me back around £30 on Amazon, which whilst isn't a bargain, was a reasonable price for a fairly heavy duty case.
--- The Product ---
This laptop case is made by Targus and it is available on Amazon for around £26. The case is made from Koskin and Polyester and it feels and looks very strong. It has a good structure and despite mine being folded over under my bed it hasn't lost its shape. The case has a rubber support on the bottom which is especially useful if you want to put the case down whilst you are travelling as it won't get wet.
This case is all black and I think it looks very professional and smart. It has a Velcro pocket on the front, which is large enough to put A4 paper into it. The pocket can fit a good amount of things in it and I often carry my textbooks in it. The Velcro is also very long lasting and mine has not gotten fluffy or less secure, even though I have used it a lot.
The main part of the case is secured with a zip that goes all over the top and down the sides of the case. The zip is strong and I have had no issues with it getting caught. The inside of the case has several compartments, including CD storage, phone storage and a large pocket for documents. The inside also has a padded luggage strap and a polyester luggage strap so you can really secure your laptop within the bag. The bag fits laptops from 15.4 inches to 16 inches, mine is 15.5 inches and fits perfectly into this case without rattling around.
As I have mentioned, the case is very strong and sturdy. I feel comfortable that when my laptop is inside it in is well protected and secure. The case is suitably padded so your laptop won't get bashed about if you are travelling. My laptop has made several journeys on crowded buses and it has been kept completely secure.
The strap on this laptop case is also made from polyester and is attachable with strong metal clips on either side of the bag. The strap is nice and long and I can easily put it across my whole body which is great for extra security when carrying my laptop around. The strap is very strong and has held my laptop plus two big textbooks without straining or breaking the case. There is a shoulder pad to protect your shoulders when you are using the bag and I find wearing it fairly comfortable.
--- My Opinion ---
I really like this laptop case. It is very sturdy and well made and I feel it offers great protection for my laptop when I am travelling. It is suitably padded that my laptop doesn't get damaged even on busy buses and I like that it has a rubber bottom so it doesn't get wet if I put it down on the ground. The case is a good size, meaning I am able to fit my books and a notepad and pen into the case so I only have to take one bag to university which is useful. The case is also very lightweight, so even if I have my laptop and two books in it, it is not too heavy to carry when I am walking.
Considering I paid £30 for this case over a year ago and it is still in great condition, despite being used every day I am very impressed! It is a nice, professional looking case that does everything you need it to. I would highly recommend this to anyone who travels with their laptop or wants to keep it in a secure case.
When my Husband and I purchased a new laptop a couple of years ago we also purchased a new laptop bag for our new toy to live in when not being used. The bag we purchased was a Targus Notepac plus. I think we paid around £20 at the time and it is currently available on Amazon uk for £31.37.
The Targus Notepac is a well made bag compromising entirely of black nylon with what is described as a koskin trim. On the front pocket of the Notepac is the Targus name brand on an oval nickel plate. All the fittings are made from nickel and are well made and strong. The inside of the Notepac is lined with charcoal grey nylon sporting the Targus name.
The Notepac comes well endowed with an assortment of handles and a luggage strap on the back allowing this Notepac to be safely attached to a luggage trolley. The detachable woven nylon shoulder strap is strong and fully adjustable with a padded cushion for comfort when carried across the shoulder. The handle at the top of the bag is sturdy and well fitted and made of plastic. Removal of the shoulder strap allows the Notepac to be carried briefcase style. On the base of the Notepac are two square rubber feet to aid with shock absorption.
The inside of the Notepac is well padded and suitable for carrying laptops between 15.4 inches and 16inches my laptop is 14inches so slightly too small for the Notepac but this has not been an issue . The inside of the Notepac contains a plethora of pockets suitable for carrying pens, notepads, mobile phone etc
A laptop can be secured in the Notepac by using the padded strap. The strap holds the laptop firmly in place. The bag fastens with dual-pull nylon zipper that can be padlocked shut.
The Targus Notepac Laptop case has been more than fit for the purpose which we brought it. It has kept the laptop safe and on the occasions where we have needed to transport our laptop we know we can rely on the Targus Notepac to do it in style.
