I bought a new laptop last year, and suffice to say, it wasn't top of the range. Just to take to the library, on the train, in to lectures for basic work purposes, so my requirements were highly fundamental. When searching for a laptop case, I therefore wanted something equally basic - no silk-lined, stronger-than-steel cases necessary! In my search I was browsing Amazon and stumbled across this case which, after confirming that it met size requirements, I decided to buy (for just under £10!).
I have not regretted it since. It is very sturdy and can cope with a lot of weight. I was expecting it to be so minimalist to the point of being unforgivingly uncomfortable to carry, but it is actually very comfortable on your back, and the carry handle is not grating on the hand. The number of little sub-compartments is ample and there is plenty of room to store chargers, cables, notepads etc. Neither the zips nor the velcro have weakened over time and the laptop itself can be strapped in securely, so everything maintains a safe integrity in the bag.
I recently got a little cocky and overloaded the bag to bursting. As I put it down once arriving back home, I held it awkwardly, putting all the weight on one buckle. I heard a 'pop' and the strap came off. I let out a curse and a sigh, knowing that I was careless and had undoubtedly broken the straps, which cannot be that strong on a cheap laptop case. This was not the case, however. The buckle had simply slipped out of it's socket, understandable given the weight - and nothing had snapped! I was amazed at the sheer resilience of the case, enough to write this article.
I am adamant of this case's quality and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone, whatever the value of their laptop or the extras they wish to pack with it - this case caters perfectly.
