Dell Inspiron XPS M1210 Mobile Superior Class ... provided, but without the back-crushing weight. The m1210 has proven to be both a workhorse and a light machine, with a comfortable to use keyboard. The screen is a 12.1" widescreen, with crisp graphics. I recommend going with a machine that has the non onboard video card -- it allows for games like Sims 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, and WoW to play in beautiful detail. The case of the machine is rugged, and has survived being thrown into my purse for short trips, and into my bookbag for hours of school and study time. Targa Traveller XTR ... button - its built into the case, and over a prolonged period it stops bouncing back out, and stops working. I called the warranty helpline and spoke to a very nice lady who arranged for it to be repaired. I packed it up in a box, it zoomed to Germany, and was back within ten days, good as new. Battery was around an hour to an hour and a half, depending on what I was doing -I spent many happy days outside in the sun, tapping in to our wireless network. Sadly though, I am now Targa-less. The laptop had been out of warranty a few months when somebody kicked the bag it was in on a train. Not until I got it home did I realise the damage - my poor baby would no longer tu... Toshiba Satellite A200-1O7 ... old fashioned becuase of USB 2.0, but are still fast, it is great having one to use with my ipod for fast data transfer speeds. Because this is a very media friendly laptop, it tries to incorporate media keys to make it more user friendly. There are music keys at the top of the laptop and these work very well with the media center program inside of windows vista home premium. Unfortunately there is no webcam included on the top of the laptop. But for small extra amounts you can customize your model to include one, in either 1.3 or 2 megapixel formats.
