	Samsung R505 ... fully converted to Samsung for all my electrical needs the R505 was the last piece in the Korean jigsaw. Having had the laptop for approximately 6 months I have had no problems at all to report. It has a slick exterior and not to bulky and from a distance could pass for a much more premier model. Lift the lid and you are confronted with a rather cheap and flimsy looking keyboard. However don t threat even with my sausage fingers i have had no issues with damage. I have never fully understood why people slate vista i find it as reliable and usable as its predecessor XP. 	Sony Vaio A617S ... bought one of these back in January 2006. Initially I was more than pleased with my purchase. It looked great, ran smoothly, had all the features I wanted in a large-screened portable. It even ran a few games quite well (F.E.A.R, Half-Life 2). With the memory-stick slot on the front I was able to quickly transfer photographs from my Sony digital camera etc, and I was happy. I found that Sony, irritatingly, had partitioned the slightly meagre 80Gb HDD into two equal parts, so my installed OS partition was rapidly approaching full, even though I store most of my data separately. 	Compaq Presario CQ71-140EA ... well, finally a decent laptop for Under £500. I got this through a recent insurance claim after my Acer Laptop decided to die a death and wouldnt work, so the insurance firm was happy to give me up to £500 to spend on a new laptop. And here was my choice, having purred over a new laptop for ages I was finally able to make myself happy and go for the Compaq Presario CQ71.
