Dell Inspiron XPS M1530 ... again. But like everything else it has pluses and minuses. The pluses first: Very nice design, out and in. Fantastic sharp screen in my opinion, very glossy. Good speakers, camera is ok but only in strong daylight, you get about 25-30fps. In the evening with a desk light you only get about 7-8 fps. Very long life battery, lasts up to 3,5 hours. Keybord quite nice and easy, you can get use to it. That's about all. People say it is good for gaming but I never played anything, so can't judge. Ok now the minuses in my opinion only. Asus Eee PC 4G ... which isn't a lot of money for what you are actually getting. The Asus Eee PC is based on the Linux operating system which seems to be much improved for this size of machine compared to the more expensive and more technology hungry Windows XP. I have heard a number of people criticise the general build quality of the Eee PC explaining that they thought it was plasticky, in my opinion the build quality is reasonable enough what do you expect for £200? This model has a 7in screen , WI FI internet access , a webcam and office style suite of applications. Packard Bell Easy Note SJ51-B-008 ... of "would likes" rather than "must haves." Using it is very simple - I just switched on skype which came preloaded, logged on and was away. It's not jerky and is good quality. On my dream wish list would have been a 17 inch screen but to be honest I'd almost written off the possibility due to my tiny budget, so was pleasantly surprised to end up with one. It is 1280 x 800 and they call it Diamondview - it is shiny but brightly lit and is very easy to use, especially on mains power, with a good range of viewing angles. It is less useful on battery as it eats power if you pu it on the bright setting, and on the less bright setting it is less easy ...
