Advent 7105 ... and i have used it nearly everyday that i have had it. It has served me well for almost 3 years with minor problems which I have manged to sort out myself. The Advent 7105 comes with a AMD Sempron 3000 processor which i find to be very quick. It came with a standard RAM of 1Gb which after a year and a half, I manally upgraded it to 2GB, making the laptop work even faster. One thing i haven t changed is the 60GB hardrive because I tend to store all my files on an external USB hardrive. This laptop is great for gaming, word processing and other normal fuctions. Acer Emachines E520 ... limited, or we re very sub standard Acers (I have problems with Acers and their uncanny knack of falling apart), so when I saw the Emachines I had become really tempted and interested. There was 2 that we re quite similar, though the other one had a smaller hard drive, and thinking I had a lot of pictures and music I wanted at least 120GB, I also needed at least 1GB of RAM. So the the E520 was the choice I made in the end. After making the order Tesco sent an Email saying it should arrive on the Friday morning between 7:30 and 10:00 like an idiot in first week of January I was up waiting... they didn t turn up, no sign of any delivery of sorts. Sony Vaio N38E/W ... bought this laptop a couple of years ago now and had a problem free experience for about 18 months. It was a good laptop to commence with - speedy and efficient. As soon as the warranty period was over however the problems seemed to commence. The main problem was the screen went really dark. It turns out I needed a replacement part called an LCD invertor. Sony said they would replace it for me but it would cost almost half the value of the laptop to get it done and I would need to send it to them and it could take a few weeks. I ended up spending £40 and buying one from ebay - it took a week to arrive from America- but it worked - at least for 4 months until it broke...
