IBM Thinkpad X31 2673 ... created an account on this web site mostly to complain about something else, and I wanted the karma to balance out, so here is a review of what I think is one of the best laptops ever. For background you should know that I can have my pick of laptops and would often update to the latest model every year. Well, for the last three+ years I ve stuck with my X31 and I ll continue for as long as it lasts. Note this is about the X31 in general, not specifically the 2673. Acer Travelmate 244LC ... Acer Travelmate 244LC is a very good entry level laptop. We use the 244LC for a range of tasks ranging from video and music playback to word processing applications with no problems what so ever. We bought the Travelmate 4 years ago for £799 which was good for the level of spec 4 years ago. The Travelmate 244LC comes with a 15" TFT LCD screen installed, which is capable of giving good, consistent colour definition to films and games being played, and with a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 which is more than enough on a 15" screen. Toshiba Satellite L10-119 ... m a teacher and this was the model given out as standard as part of the laptops for teachers initative. It was also available separately for retail. The laptop has 3 USB ports, modem, network port, VGA, headphone and mic inputs. There is nothing else really and it is a basic setup. Although it is basic is has done a good job of running everything that I have needed out of it. The screen is a basic 15" regular shape (not widescreen) and it isn;t the brightest or clearest but none the less does ok. The unit is fairly well built but recently I have begun to have problems with the keyboard flexing heavily and as a result I have been finding it hard to use the p button...
