Sony Vaio FX702 ... this laptop over two years ago - its still going strong (touch wood. I am not what you would call a computer expert - but i do need to use a computer quite a lot for work (teacher). I feel the FX702 offers me everything i need and sometimes more. It is much easier to use than a desktop for obvious reasons and we are able to change its location around the house/work at will. I have used the FX702 to my limit which i dare say it has handled easily - i generally research info from the internet - compile data through word or excel - formulate data into graphs for presentation and the odd shop through ebay. Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D6800 ... Amilo D is now in its 3rd year at home, and its really started to become a liability. Just over a year after the purchase, the video card went on the blink. One can barely see the screen when running on battery, so its lived most of its life "off the mains" (a PC can do that). Some months ago I tried to find a new role for it at home - as an internet server, so I purchased the appropriate PCMCIA card to surf the web at a snail s crawl, having decided to sever my jacked-up ADSL umbilical cord with the lousy landline telephone service provider. Apple iBook G4 ... have a 12" ibook with the 1.33GH processor. i ve had it for 6 months now and the outside is still pristine white. looks-wise it is gorgeous! because i ve always been a microsoft user, i had to get some getting used to with apple mac, but shifting is pretty easy and i don t regret going for apple. i use mine for school, to store pictures, and music, for internet chatting and skyping. i love it because it is small and portable. it s very light and sturdy. it has an antishock device so if you accidentally drop it, it protects your files. it also has a built-in mic and speaker which both work really well. it has wi-fi and bluetooth and 2 usb ports, a firewire, a lan ...
