IBM Thinkpad T23 2647 ... to the plug if you need to use the laptop. It has the plug at the end, a bit of cable, a rectangle block which can become warm if left on for a long time then more cable and the connection to the laptop. If you do find the battery is not living up to expectations, you can buy another, which should mean the 3.5 hour life is restored. Laptop usage: This laptop has a vent at the left-hand side (if the laptop is on your lap, it will be near your knee at the side). I find that will continuous use this becomes warm and then can be quite hot and the fan will start up more and more to try and cool itself down. It may feel nice on a cold day but you will need to make sure th... Read the full review: I've got my ThinkLight on you! by sirg0508 |

Apple iBook G4 ... chose an iBook because I found the quality of the PC laptops equivalents somewhat lacking. I didn t want to spend several hundred pounds on something that was just going to break in a couple of years. This is my first Mac and my first laptop but it took nothing to become used to, just a few minutes - I was expecting difficulties given my past 5 years of using the (godawful) Windows operating system (OS). Despite the low power (1ghz) and stingy memory (256mb) it doesn t often struggle, I guess it s because it isn t as loaded with crap as Windows often is. For £799 the power is mediocre considering you... Read the full review: The (underpowered) quality laptop by failme |

Compaq Evo Notebook N1015v ... brought this laptop about a year ago and although you probably can?t buy it brand new, I thought I would point out the positives it has and where these can be translated into newer laptops currently on sale. To start off, I will just mention the price. I brought this laptop for £700 in April of 2003 and my sister has just brought a new laptop June 2004 and we have almost the same spec for the same price. She has an Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz and a cd-rw but apart from that the spec is the same, oh and she has USB 2 ports instead of my usb 1.1. saying all this my laptop runs faster and that?s because Celeron processors are rubbish, I?m sorry but they don?t compare to a AMD...
