	HP Compaq Business Notebook Nc8430 ... installed ram on this laptop is an average 1 gb. This is ok but could have been dramatically improved if it was a 2gb of ram. The ram can however be upgraded, and it can be upgraded to a maximum of 4 gb so if this is something you think you could do your self then you could easily buy cheap ram off eBay and install it yourself, however if you don t know what your doing then this could be quite a costly process and might not be worth doing. However it really would make a huge difference to the performance of this laptop. This laptop however does still run really fast despite its smallish ram. 	Apple PowerBook G4 ... 12" Powerbook G4 is, my mind, a phenomenal little laptop, and until Apple goes to the trouble of designing and building a Macbook Pro with a 12" screen, I m not going to be upgrading. No longer in production, the 12" Powerbook could probably be found for a good price second hand. I ve used mine for academic work - typing essays, papers etc and frequent graphical work in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc. It s true that compared with modern computers, the processor is now outclassed, and I generally try to keep my high-end graphics work to other machines, but as a day to day laptop the Powerbook is superb. 	Sony Vaio CR19XN/B ... main feature to this laptop is something called Click&Play, this means that as soon as you turn on your laptop it goes straight onto a screen that lets you access all your digital media files and lets you play them immediately too. This feature is imbedded in the laptop, which means it will start up this way all the time, but the great thing about this is how fast it loads up, its almost immediately as you don t have to wait for windows to load up. Also when your done with this feature you can easily exit it and load up the normal windows operating system.
