After my beloved PC finally gave its last, shuddering blue screen of death, a-shopping i did go, albeit reluctantly. I needed something portable, I knew i was going to be moving around a lot, but I also needed to play games and rely on it to do everything i could do with my pc. I turned to Dell finally because they were the only company that could offer the hardware I needed at anything even approaching a sensible price. I was pleasantly surprised. 	Dell Inspiron 6000 Extreme ... managed to blow up my old Dell laptop 2 weeks outside warranty, I bought this one (with extended warranty). Things did not start well when, a month later, it decided to stop switching on altogether. Cue a visit from the Dell man to replace the motherboard. That said, since then (18 months later), it s been absolutely fine. I like the widescreen, which makes it good for movies on the go, and the keyboard and touchpad are comfortable to use (I have a trackerball plugged in, but that s just personal preference and I d have that regardless). 4 USB sockets ensure I can do plenty at once, and it s certainly nippy enough for most day to day purposes.
