... i m going to try not to be too harsh on this laptop, but i feel like i have to... I have had it for just over 2 years, and in total the graphics card has died 3 times and the case has cracked (in the exact same place) 2 times. I ve sent it back twive for repairs but now it is just out of warranty, and honestly it is so much hassle, i will have to buy a new leptop. The design flaws are pretty huge in this laptop ... Sony Vaio VPC W11S1E ... beast and fairly fast. I say fairly fast because it doesn t seem to run as quick as my laptop which also has a 1.66GHz processor, which surprises me a bit. I guess I am being a bit harsh in the above as I find the processing speed of the VAIO more than adequate for what I ask it to do. Memory and data transfer This VAIO has a 160GB hard drive, which I consider quite impressive. However, I am struggling to see why a notebook requires such a large memory. In my opinion this VAIO is really an executive tool for creating/editing/reviewing documents on the train or plane, or an item that people on the move would use for internet browsing since it is basically a powerf... Acer Aspire 5738Z-423G16MN ... and previous experience with similar machines suggests so. However, on to the positives. The processor is very much capable of basic tasks, with a very quick response time. This is due to the intel processor (CPU) have a very quick speed of 2.0GHz (the speed at which is can perform operations) and this is also combined with the 3GB of RAM memory to maximize its potential speed. The hard drive is 160gb, which is a lot of songs, roughly 40,000, but can be quickly filled up if other files or videos are also been stored. Acer Aspire 7720 ... have only ever owned Acer laptops and have been really happy with them in the past, so when my old one packed up after 4 years of dutiful service, getting an Acer was high on my list of priorities. I m a student and as such I m pretty much completely reliant on my laptop - it serves as a workstation, games console, entertainment system and provides the much needed access to the internet. So obviously I m big on reliability. On the whole, this is a very reliable product.
