For example, according to the specifications above, the T43 1871 has an 80GB hard drive and a DVD Writer - whereas despite being labelled as a model 1871, my machine has only a 20 GB hard-drive and a CD writer. Toshiba Satellite 2430-402 ... soft touch making it nice to use and the mouse pad is good as it is very smooth and never sticks unlike some more modern laptops i have tried. The screen is a good size, it is not glossy but it is very bright and good for watching movies, it is not widesceen though. The internals are good, it runs on Windows XP Home edition and has a 40GB hard drive and Intel Pentium 4 processor meaning the laptop is fast and suitable for a lot of applications. Its not a great gaming laptop, but i have played quite a gew games like The Sims and Roller Coaster Tycoon and they all play fine, it does not like the Sims 2 that much though so its not good for newer games. The Thinkpad is a supremely conventional and practical piece of hardware, perfect for anyone who is constantly on the move.
