Apple iBook G4 Superdrive ... owned one of these for about a year now. Being a windows user before i was kind of wary of converting to mac as i was so used to using the interface which everyone prefers. After using this for about a week i kind of though of it as a large ipod, all the features of Mac are ipod like (well they are apple) but i just have come to love the interface, its so easy to use. Once you use a mac i believe it will be hard for you to go back to a pc. Macs are so fast and reliable. This ibook is just under 5 years old and it still runs like a charm even after having a lot of applications piled onto it such as photoshop CS3 which is handles great (if a little lagy at some times) ... HP Compaq Business Notebook Nc4000 ... 4 processor is now outdated, however, it is more than enough for browsing the web and using basic productivity applications. Don t purchase one expecting a powerhouse as all you will get is a very basic computer for little cash. The laptop is as upgradable as any other - i.e. memory and hard drive, thats it. The memory can take up to 1.5GB which is pretty impressive considering the age of the computer. My N4000 arrived with Xp pro installed, performance was predictably unimpressive and boot up times were very long. The overall build quality was poor as after just two days the hinge had broken resulting in use of the warranty straight away - not a good start. Battery li... HP Compaq Business Notebook Nc4010 ... the battery life is poor so I run it off mains power. However, you can buy replacement batteries relatively cheaply and I do intend to do this at some point. I m not an expert when it comes to computer specifications but this does everything I need it to and is fast enough for my needs. I did some research before buying and the 40GB hard drive and 480MB RAM are more than adequate for my current needs. I use this as my main PC at home but if you wanted if you rea hardcore gamer, you may need to invest in another model. For internet I use a plug in dongle which is pay as you go on the 3 network so I really can take this anywhere (once I get my new battery!) I rea...
