... bought one of these from a pile in Tesco at the time 389 gbp. This is my 2nd Acer the other one is used as a pc replacement. The only thing i have had to do to each one is add 512mb ram. very easy and relatively cheap. İ use both for work and pleasure and the 2420 is carried around with me. Acer Aspire 1355LC ... currently own an Aspire 1355LC. I am very happy with it as it does what any normal computer is expected to do. It is also compact and reasonably easy to carry around with you. The screen is very easy on the eyes. The screen is 15" It also contains a DVD player/CD-RW all in one. They contain about 40 GB There are 4 USB ports All together the laptop only weighs about 3.6Kg I personally find that if I need to go on the laptop for a long period of time, then it gets too hot and turns off completely. Sometimes this results in loss of work. You can also activate blue tooth, if it appeals to you. The keys are very easy to type with. I sometimes find that the mouse pad s... Toshiba Tecra 9100 ... a year of ownership, much of the machine has died (USB ports, WiFi, audio input and output, and the parallel port. This is my first, and last, Toshiba machine. Touted to be reliable and tough, the 9100 Tecra is a glass-jaw of a machine. Looking on the net, including eBay, I have found several machines advertised with exactly the same list of failed components. It appears that Toshiba is unconcerned with reputation for these products. Compared to my last computer, an Averatec, this portable is incredibly unportable.
