Advent 7105:
... manged to sort out myself. The Advent 7105 comes with a AMD Sempron 3000 processor which i find to be very quick. It came with a standard RAM of 1Gb which after a year and a half, I manally upgraded it to 2GB, making the laptop work even faster. Sony Vaio GRT716S ... Sony VAIO GRT716S was the first laptop I owned and bought some 5 years ago now and its still running fine. Overall, its fairly sturdy - desk height falls didn t do harm to it and it was also easy to keep clean. Speedwise, with optimization, it hardly ever crashed on any software for me when other people reported constant crashes on their different systems, so I would believe the components were of high quality. It also ran software (i.e. games) that had minimum requirements well outside its capabilities so that was a big plus too. Apple MacBook MA699B/A ... ve had the laptop for just over a year now, and there are many good things about it. It connects to WiFi with about one or two clicks, which is excellent because on my PC it took several hours to get it set up to accept my wifi connection. The software that it comes with, such as iMovie is excellent, and the inbuilt webcam is extremely useful. This being my first Mac I was worried that I was going to have a really hard time trying to figure out how to navigate the menus, but it was really simple and easy to use. Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L1300 ... have used quite a few laptops over the years and disliked the Fujistu Siemans L1300 for a few reasons. It s celeron processar and ram configuration was never meant to be the quickest but even compared to other budget laptops at the time and ones I have personally used it was slow. It also crashed a number of times for no apparent reason and I don t think windows xp can be entirely blamed for this. The feature I liked was the 15.4" widescreen which was something just coming in to laptops at the time rather than the usual 15" ratio.
