Toshiba Portege R400-106 ... this laptop for about 6 months. Pros of this laptop are that it virtually never gets hot and so can be used for ages. I also looks great with the gloss white finish. Also has 3g data card built in which is very handy. The screen is LED backlit which is great as it greatly reduces eye strain. The laptopwas able to handle most tasks fairly well and was capable of opening multiple applications. its also great that it comes with Vista Ultimate as you get all the features of Vista Business but also get Media Centre. The tablet pen is very precise and a great feature. The cons of this laptop are that it is sometimes quite slow. also, the screen bezel will break quite easi... Dell Inspiron 2200 Central DVD+/-RW ... got this computer around 4 years ago when I first started University. It seemed to work well, I connected it up to the internet in my student halls, and it seemed to do the job. All I needed in a computer was something I could access the internet on, type my essays and play some music, nothing to complicated or technical. This review will be of my experiences with the computer, rather than it s technical specifications and features which can be found any where that is selling the computer. Sony Vaio FJ1S/W ... multimedia cards. Wifi can be turned on and off via a small button on the front. The incorporated camera in the screen bezel does the job but the mic tens to generate a lot of echo... Performance wise its pentium M processor is franckly outdated but when running Win XP still does the job, especially since the RAM was upgraded to 1 GB. When it was first used the computer was dead silent but with time it became annoyingly noisy for some unknown reason. Even though the CPU usage can be close to zero the computer fan keeps blowing away hot air, and I mean HOT!
