Acer Aspire 5720 ... a student I chose the laptop which was the least expensive but could perform a number of tasks. I m extremely pleased I purchased the Acer Aspire 5720, it carries out every task in which I bought it for and more. I can load pages up quickly with the 160gb hard drive and also store much more music, pictures etc because of the 2gb memory. I purchased this laptop from Tescos for about £349 it definately is the cheapest in its class with the other laptops boasting much less technology for nearly twice the price! Acer is a great quality brand anyway so I didn t really need to think twice about purchasing this product. I just wish I hadn t waited for as long as I did, I can ... Toshiba Satellite L40-14Y ... Toshiba L40 seems to come in a variety of different models, each with different specs within the same outer casing. I have what seems to be the lowest end model, which on paper is just about good enough to run Windows Vista. The build quality of this laptop is reasonably good, with no bit s falling off and it all appearing to be in one (relatively) solid piece. Having a 15.4 inch widescreen display, which is common in laptops nowadays, means that this is by no means a portable machine, although Toshiba appear to have tried to reduce the size with no overly large border around the display which would add unnecessary bulk.
