Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 1718 ... bought the Amilo Li1718 2nd hand at a cost of £120 8 months ago, it retailed around £500 when first out. The best things about it are the screen size, the true to screen battery life, the Windows Vista, the fact it s got a dual core processor, the ram and processor are more than enough to cope with normal demand. The hard drive is also a fair size and again more than enough for most usages. i am also happy with the layout of USB and other ports. Unfortunately I found a couple of weak points, I do not like the keyboard, it is very flat to the touch, and the on board graphics is very poor which is a mighty shame, it is a bit touch and go with full screen video and as fo... Dell Latitude D505 ... laptop is part of the well respected Dell Latitude family. It has a good specification, although showing its age a little when compared with more recent models. Apart from it being older the D505 is still a competent workhorse of a laptop providing good value if purchased second hand. The laptop runs quiet and can accomplish most office tasks well. A CD drive is include but can be upgraded or swapped for another hard disk drive. As with all laptops extended use means the battery will have to be replaced eventually. The ports provided are reasonable if not extensive nor numerous, however this laptop can take advantage of Dell s docking station for expansion and deskto... Acer Emachines E520 ... the start of the year I had decided to get myself a laptop with the left over money from Christmas and my 21st (to be honest by "left over money" I mean all the money I d gotten). The budget was around £300 and it had to be a windows operated system (none of the Linux stuff for me thank you) so off I went searching online and in shops. For those interested in buying an entry level laptop, the main store chains in the United Kingdom such as PC World, Comet and Currys aren t worth looking in, I was happy to spend £300 in any of them and all I seemed to be able to get for that were net books.
