Acer Travelmate 2423WXMi ... bought one of these from a pile in Tesco at the time 389 gbp. This is my 2nd Acer the other one is used as a pc replacement. The only thing i have had to do to each one is add 512mb ram. very easy and relatively cheap. İ use both for work and pleasure and the 2420 is carried around with me. Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 ... s reliability is well known for decade. The name is enough to trust the quality. It does not heat up like American brands, e.g. IBM and Dell etc. Unless there is huge difference in the price, it is better to buy intel than Celeron; their performance is not as good as intel motherboards. 15" screen although is good for watching movies but diffifult to carry around and handle in general. Dell Latitude D505 ... product is nice as a whole, very easy to carry due to its small size(compared to other laptops of the same price like that of Sony). In most DELL products, the problem is breaking (separation) of LSD panel with the main body at the attachment joints(seen in most dell laptops used at a university). Although this is a problem, Dell Inc. offers warranty of its product which many other laptop makers don t. Another less attractive feature of dell is its not-so-bright LCD screen compared to other LCDs like that of Sony, Toshiba which i could see at shopping stores.
