Toshiba Satellite L30-113 ... have had the Toshiba Satellite L30-113 laptop for 2 years now and it has worked well. I bought it because it was a good offer at PC world for a laptop of that spec. It is not flashy but looks smart in black. The screen is good and clear and bright. The Toshiba onscreen startup processes are a bit longwinded and there is more waiting around for things to load than I would like. It has Vista preinstalled which takes up quite a lot of the HDD space and contributes to the waiting around. I would have preferred XP. My son tried Back-Track which is a stripped down Linux based OS which he ran on a USB pen. This made the machine much quicker, but there seemed to be ... Sony Vaio FS515E ... Windows XP Home Edition with service packed 2, it has a 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) X-black LCD flat screen, and runs on 512MB DDR2 SDRAM (533 MHz). Even though, it s Windows XP, Its Vista capable as well; some of them I ve seen are though. I can always rely on the Sony make; to me it has always been a top brand. I love the Intel Celeron M Processor 390; the processing speed is 1.70 GHz, which is the ideal speed for me. The hard disk drive is 80GB, which is quite suitable for the size. Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535 ... love this laptop, the first one we had we bought on a very small budget so got a second hand reconditioned one. It was still a fujitsu but an older model, I was that impressed that I knew straight away what make I was looking for. Price...
